pb.pursuit Posted February 18, 2024 Posted February 18, 2024 I've never used electronics for anything other than gps and basic downscan off the transom. I have a garmin echomap chirp 94sv at the helm now but I just got a new 12" lowrance hds live to replace it. I would like to relocate the garmin unit to the bow and run panoptix. My question is which transducer should I get? I am pretty sure my options are ps22-tr, ps30, and ps31. I don't have any experience with panoptix so I'm not really sure how these transducers differ and which would be best for my application. Also, will I need a sonar module or do these transducers work directly to the display unit? Quote
GPtimes2 Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 The panoptix software is in the transducers. No black box needed. I would say since you are going for the front of the boat to get the PS31 and start with it on the trolling motor shaft and see if you like it and if you would then keep it there or invest in a separate pole for it. If you are sure it is compatible with your unit and any chance you or someone you know would be able to pick one up in cental Ohio? I have one but don't want to ship it (sorry for that). Quote

Thanks for the info! I wish I had a way to get that from you. There's a PS31 transducer for sale in my area on FB. I am not sure what they are worth used so just out of curiosity, how much would you want for it so I can use that as a reference? Quote
GPtimes2 Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 I am giving mine away free to someone who can pick it up and would use it. I want to find someone who would enjoy it and not take it to resell. I keep an eye out at the docks when I go for someone, then I saw your post and hoped you were close. I wouldn't recommend paying much for one (maybe 2 or 3 hundred). You may know that there has been 2 models since them (LVS32 and then LVS34). I upgraded through those, and they are worth saving and waiting for. But if can get the PS31 for cheap, then that would be ok in my mind. Quote
GPtimes2 Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Just wanted to credit and thank the forum for my PS31 finding a good home! Quote
