Sweet!  Buying waterfront property is one of the best things I have ever done.  Enjoy!!

And the taxes are only $140 a year as long as I don't improve it.

When I wade fished the Shenandoah River, I had a lady I worked with that had 3 acres of riverfront.  She got it in a divorce and her ex got the cabin about 1/4 mile down the road.  They were always planning on building on the 3 acre plot but never did.  In exchange for us grooming the shoreline and trimming the trees we got unlimited access which is like gold on that river.  Law is as long as you stay in the river you can wade anywhere.  I knew about 3 miles of that stretch like the back of my hand.  We camped many weekends up there.  She sold it to a deputy sheriff who always said we could fish anytime but he built there and it was awkward.  Enjoy your purchase!

I'm half a block from the ocean but have water view .... my taxes are $700+ per month.  Congratulations!

So when are we all coming over to have a 'barn raising'?

All y'all are welcome anytime. You can camp in the woods and fish as much as you want. You can even use my fancy stand-and-fish boat.

So happy and excited for you Katie, you're so deserving of your own slice of heaven.

The pictures and adventures are going to be epic!!!   Now you'll get that opportunity to learn every single stump in a single lake, you now have a true home lake.

Huge congrats, nothing better than owning property in this world!

Thanks, Alex. It's five minutes from my house and if I ever decide to build, it's the last lot on a dead end road, bordered by swamp on one side and the lot on the other side already has its house built up by the road. So, it would be quiet other than the beavers and loons.

Congratulations @ol'crickety on your new piece of fishing paradise! Gotta think your new neighbors will appreciate you being a steward of the lake all its various inhabitants. We’re all looking forward to seeing some great photos and hearing of your fishing adventures.

Congrats on the new land!
It’s a pretty fantastic feeling to own your own little slice of heaven, for three years now I’ve been able to walk across my field to a section of quiet river that I own on both sides of, and catch all kinds of scrappy little bass. Enjoy it as much as you can 👍

I've always loved reading about your river and seeing the bass you catch in it.

Congratulations on your purchase.  That will be so sweet, maybe a camp out a few times a year would be in order.  I so miss my childhood cottage on Lake Winnisquam.
