Can someone explain the logic behind the way the Bass tournaments are televised? I tried to watch the Bass Pro tournament last week end and was very frustrated. I had to tune into FS1 at 8am to watch the first couple of hours. Then I had to go to my computer to watch the rest of it. Why would they not just show the whole tournament on one source? Seems dumb to me.

Probably due to TV contracts for other sports. Weekends after around 12 are sports, not fishing tournaments for 8-12 hours. Not saying I agree with it, but not as many folks are going to sit through an entire days worth of tournament fishing compared to 3-4 football or basketball games, college or pro.

The network is also hoping to get you interested on the airing in hopes you’ll move to the streaming, as that’s probably much cheaper to "air". Could also be testing to see how many folks move over to streaming in hopes of offering a PPV streaming platform in the future. All about those dollar bills to them.

The elite series is like this.  They will air it on FS1/2 until noon, but that's because at noon they can swap to college sports or professionals with an hour of commentary and then the game.  Those leagues and conferences get paid a LOT more for the television rights and they draw a lot more eyeballs.  I too wish there was a way to just put it on FS4 or 5 and swap the channel but no.  Usually I just turn the TV off and go do something else.
