LrgMouthCatcha Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Ive been talking with ReelMech and have gotten the list of EVERYTHING I need to do my winter cleaning on my reels, but I want the best oil/grease I can get! Suggestions? Thanks for your earlier help ReelMech Quote
TournyFish001 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 not to sure but I read a post like this a while back and most everyone says to avoid the quantum hot sauce- I am curious to. I have some abu garcia stuff now but have not used it yet. Quote
castaway Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Where the hells the posse at ? Buy shimano oil, lithium 777 grease. That should cover it. ;D I am guessing that should cover it, I do use Abu Silicote oil on the line pawl assembly, but I am not always correct. Ivan Quote
Guest DavidGreen Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 LrgMouthCatcha, The oil I carry is the same oil that I have been using since my training days at Shimano® and Daiwa®, and the same as Shimano® puts in the reel box. You already know that I carry the 777 Lithium grease. Tight Lines!!! Quote
LrgMouthCatcha Posted December 10, 2006 Author Posted December 10, 2006 most everyone says to avoid the quantum hot sauce Is this true... why should I avoid this brand? Quote
bow3022 Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 If the gears are metal, i use a oil called militec. It's use for guns, but i use it on my balisong knife. I guess it would be the same since its just metal. Quote
