Agree look more like a lipped swimbait or a wake bait

They can be had on JDM sites for about half that. Check Digitaka. They also do not have set pricing so coupons work on US sites like Omnia.

The colors I have done well with in the Evoke 3.0 are Sexy Shad, Horizon Shad, and Blue Back Chartreuse but not so much in the Bluegill and Scum Perch. In the 4.0, it's the opposite. I have caught several on the Bluegill. In the 2.0, Black Back Shad is the money color but any of the colors have caught fish for me. Nice thing about this bait (2.0 only), is that its almost snag proof. I have tossed them into some pretty nasty stuff and it just bounces around. I haven't lost one yet. It's the only crankbait I have that I can say that about. I have lost several Strike Kings and LC 2.0 cranks. When you add them up, I have saved money with Evokes.

In the Raid Level Goriller, I have the Neon Back Chartreuse and Blue Back Chartreuse. I bought these last year and have only caught a few fish with them but I can tell they will be a good ones when spring hits.

I caught my PB on the MiniMag, and have caught many large bass on the Cloud nine Magnum.  I know it is a bass fishing sin, but trolling a Cloud 9 Magnum catches big bass.

6th Sense crankbaits mentioned above, plus their Movement 80X.

While not considered a "Square Bill", don't overlook it. For shallow pre-spawn bass this bait is deadly.

The bigger hybrid hunter is basically a larger squarebill and it catches the snot out of fish.  Comes through wood like nothing I've ever fished.

awh, come on guys.  I thought I was done buying hardbaits.  And I just reorganized my tackle bag for the year.  Now I've got to find room for a couple 3-4" squarebills...  And a 1.5 oz crankbait?  I might need a new rod for that now.

On a more serious note, what timeframe/conditions are you guys fishing these magnum SBs?  For me, a SB is a cover water, near some kind of cover (rock or wood), usually in the start of the year up to the spawn.  same for the magnums?

I have both sizes of Hybrid hunter.  Its supposed to come through grass clean too, but I'll dispute that.  The bill alone catches grass pretty bad and then it hooks up all through the trebles before you can rip it out.  I could see it being good around rock and maybe wood.

FWIW, I consider it a swimbait and throw it on my heavy-duty swimbait setup...and it is responsible for my PB. 😎👍

@casts_by_fly Never liked a crankbait anywhere but above submerged grass and in general I'd probably opt for a spinnerbait or buzzbait in those circumstances but in terms of being a Squarebill that is somewhat excessively large that I fish in places I'd fish a Squarebill (shallow hard bottom areas with rock and wood cover and poorer visibility), I enjoy using the Hybrid Hunter.  Haven't had as much luck with the jr.

Big fan of 6th Sense crankbaits and cranks in general. Finally found the perfect use for the Movement 80X recently...enticing bass up out of about 7 feet of grass at Caney Lake.

The Cloud 9 Mag is a whopper. Like a lightbulb with hooks. KVD 2.5 shown for comparison.

Anywhere it'll run, but after temps are steady above 45*. Below that temp I want baits to run very slowly. Not a strength of a floating crank.

@PhishLIyeha, that's big.  Length specs can be deceptive some times and I think that's only 4".  If you think about a 4" senko its like nothing.  But that has some bulk to it.  Not sure I'm going to pick one up just yet, but I'm going to keep my eye out when on the water when I might want to throw it.

I have a couple KVD 4.0 and a 8.0 square bills. They work great I might would consider them also.

The Mini Mag is a great bait and easy to fish. The KVD 8.0 is a good bait but it runs pretty deep for a squarebill. I wish they would make a version with a shorter bill that stays in that 2-5 foot range that most squarebills run in.
