Wondering if anyone here kayak fishes Dale hollow. My daughter lives fairly close and I want to make it there this year. Also center hill lake and candy fork river.

The Caney Fork river (below Center Hill) is more of a trout river...cold water coming out of the bottom of Center Hill.

You cant go wrong with Center Hill or Dale Hollow.

I heard that about the river (trout). I want to get on some smallmouth. I’ve never caught one and am itching to do so.

When I went to dale hollow a couple years ago there were kayaks everywhere, I think it’s a good way to do it.

The Caney fork is a NIGHTMARE if it’s warm outside, an outfitter will drop of literally hundreds of kayakers. I saw several fly fisherman wading and they got slammed into over and over by kayaks

Where do you fish? I can’t remember if you’re east or west TN. I’m assuming the TnRiver stands for the TN River, which leads me to the Knoxville/Chattanooga area? East side? I’m much closer to Chattanooga than Dale Hollow. Wife works in Knoxville some, so I’m going to try some places there next time she has to travel…

I live right across the water from downtown Knoxville but I’ve been known to fish anywhere

Indeed there are. I have a new grandbaby at my daughters house, so my trip advice was pretty selfish to begin with 😂😂

Dale Hollow is on my list of places to go, though I've not been there yet. Course, it's legendary as the home of the World Record Smallie!

The whole lake is good. They had an MLF tourney out of sunset when I was there and I saw a lot of boats at the dam, that’s pretty much the entire thing . There was an 8.2 LM weighed in that one

One day I was up there and a guy who had on old Billy Westmorland map. It was color coded and marked up with banks that were good for spring, summer, fall and winter.
I'm telling ya...the whole dang lake was marked.

I try to make a yearly pilgrimage to Dale Hollow. I've caught a few but I've yet to land a big one. When you do go, make sure its not a summer weekend. The lake is crowded with jet skis and wake boats. It is also full of big crappie and sunfish. There are monster shellcrackers to be had in the spring.

Thanks for the heads up. I much prefer to go any place during the week.
