bassin_man Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Whats the best loomis rod for a finesse fishing setup? Probably would like it in an IMX series, would like to buy GLX but not sure I can afford that one. Thanks Quote
Bass Pro Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I'd go with the MBR 782 in the GLX or the IMX Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 More info please What types of lures, and weights along with the line you plan to use. You looking for spinning or baitcasting? Quote
bassin_man Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 Either baitcasting or spinning. Just basically looking for the best rod that would only be used for things such as dropshot, shakeyhead, etc. Probably with either 6 or 8 pound test. Quote
Guest avid Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I have an IMX CR721C this is a 6 foot wand teamed with a daiwa tdz. this outfit will cast a weightless soft plastic with ease. I use circle or ocutpus hooks whith it, and land big bass out of open water. It is featherweiht beauty that is delightful to fish. Pointer 78's, rapala oriinals, and other light treble hooked lures are a blast to fish with this little ultra light baticaster. Quote
TournyFish001 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 If I were you I'd go for the DSR822 in either BC/spinning. You can get it for around 180.00 on ebay right now. I own this rod and love it- the best finesse outfit I own for drop shot, split shot, shakey head. Quote

I have a CR722C with a Shimano 50mg and agree with Avid, it's the little bait rod of choice. JMHO Ronnie Quote
