Super User Bankbeater Posted February 11, 2024 Super User Posted February 11, 2024 The Cordell Big-O comes in a 1/4 oz size. I use a ml or ul for casting that, depending on where I am fishing. Quote
Fallser Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 I thought I had a few more. They might be stashed somewhere. All of them weigh in between .1 and .2 oz and between 1 1/2 and 2 inches long. Two Rattle Traps, a Zara Pooch, a Rapala UL Shad 04, a Rebel minnow of some sort and one that I think is a Yozuri. I wished I checked my tackle box last night. I went to a fishing flea market with a couple of friends today, and one guy had a whole tackle box of these tiny lures for sale. Two or three dollars each. We're going to another fishing flea market next week. I'll have to keep my eyes open. I have an UL rod that I must of built for fishing these light lures. I could throw them with my fly rod. Quote
RRocket Posted February 11, 2024 Posted February 11, 2024 Since I'm a UL guy, some of these small baits are incredibly fun! The one I've caught the most fish on is probably the Rebel Crickhopper. 1.5", 3/32oz An amazingly versatile lure. Can be fish topwater. Otherwise it fishes about 2-3 feet deep. Not just a pond lure, either. Throw this along shore, near cover, etc and it gets bit. I think few if any species will pass on a cricket falling into the water. I've also had fun with the Yo-Zuri Snap Bean. 1 inch, 1/16oz 1-2 feet depth. Definitely a pond or creek lure. And for something different..A micro wake bait with all the trimmings! LOL 😆 Flashy colors? Check! Bead? Why not!?! Underpin? Of course! Feathers? You bet! Skirt? Why wouldn't you? LOL 😆 So it has it all! 2 inches and 1/6oz. Top surface to barely subsurface. 2 Quote
OmegaDPW Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 @RRocket the grasshopper version of that cricket is my least favorite lure. Years ago, when my son was first starting to fish he wanted one and immediately it got caught on his gym shorts that he was wearing. While I was attempting to get it out of that crappy material, a guy walked up to see if we had caught anything. My son turned around fast and the lure ripped through his pants and deep into my finger. So, we're talking to this nice old man while I'm bleeding like a stuck pig and trying to hide it from him. I almost had to go to the hospital to remove it but eventually pulled it out with pliers and a lot of cuss words. That lure has never been fished again and it resides in MY TACKLEBOX so none of my kids ever find it. 🤣 1 1 Quote

softwateronly Posted February 13, 2024 Posted February 13, 2024 Don't want to derail, but looking for opinions on small, like 2-3", deep diving cranks, somewhere between 16-20'. I have my eye on damiki dc-400, nomad d-trak 65, nomad d-trak 80, and duel hardcore bullet 5+. Megabass deep x 300, deep six, and river to sea tb dd are my most successful so far. Small profile and tighter wobble seem to be the ticket for my water and hoping to add some more options. scott Quote
