Lucky Craft Man Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Has anyone ever used the Carbontex Drag Washers? If so, what do you think of them? Thanks. Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 22, 2006 Super User Posted November 22, 2006 Got Carbontex washers in two of my Curados and my Chronarch SF, they turn your drag into the monster of dragenstein. Quote
lubina Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 Raul, Do they make them compatible for an Scorpion 1000 ?. Where can I find them? Thanks a lot. Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 22, 2006 Super User Posted November 22, 2006 Raul, Do they make them compatible for an Scorpion 1000 ?. Where can I find them? Thanks a lot. Smoothies Just look for CU100B washers, they are the same size for the Scorpion. Quote
Lightninrod Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Yes, they are in my Pixy and my Sol reels. They are the best IMO. A Basser on another BB tuned both of those reels for me and installed the washers at the same time. He does great work. Dan Quote
Guest DavidGreen Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Raul, Just got my new wholesale price list from smooth drag earlier this month. It only shows the Carbontex washer for the Calcutta's. The Xtreme Smoothies for only the Calcutta and Trinidad. The standard smoothies on the other hand for the Calcutta, Castaic, Calais, Chronarch, Citica, and Curado. How did you get Carbontex washers for your Curado and Chronarch? Tight Lines!! Quote

Guest DavidGreen Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Raul, What year Curado and Chronarch? Just trying to get it right in my empty head... David. Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 23, 2006 Super User Posted November 23, 2006 Without looking at the stickers ( got the reels at home ) Curado 200 is '94 ( bought that one at Academy in July 1994 ), Chronarch SF must be somewhere around 2000 ( got that one at Academy in Jan 2001 so it can 't be 2001 ), Curado B38 is 2003 ( ? )-2004 ( got that one from BPS a couple of years ago in March ). Lucky Craft Man Posted December 6, 2006 Author Posted December 6, 2006 The people at Smoothies are outstanding. I called and gave them the dimensions of the drag washers for a reel that they hadn't listed on their web site. They called me back the next day and told me they found two carbontex drag washers (from two different reel sets) that would fit my reel. They are on the way to my house (along with a pound of Cal's grease). Excellent people to deal with and I will be sure to give them future business. Sorry if this sounds like a commercial, but excellent service deserves to be advertised. Quote
Super User Raul Posted December 7, 2006 Super User Posted December 7, 2006 TDZzilla in incubation. Quote
Super User Raul Posted December 8, 2006 Super User Posted December 8, 2006 If we 've got TDZilla in incubation I would suggest that since RM is going to have it in his shop a switch for some nice ceramic bearings ( at least those that support the spool ) would be a good adition to the baby. Quote
