Looking to purchase a 1000 size spinning reel and both are similar priced.  What is the best reel?

Nasci opened up

Were just talking about Nasci on TKF forum, and I had this link already queued.

Personally - I prefer the Miravel as it's a full ounce lighter than the Nasci

Go to Digitaka - Miravel 1000 currently at $97 - no tax or shipping charges

Sorry misread the thread title 🤭 The one thing I will add is I handled both last spring side by side and didn’t mount them to any rods but as pointed out the Vanford which I believe the Miravel body is based on material wise has a different bend in the stem area to account for flex. Just food for thought.

I like my Nasci 1k but the 2 piece bail is a little annoying with light braid, Miravel has the same 2 piece I believe. Digitaka has Ultegras for ~106USD, definitely prefer my Ultegra to the Nasci.

I've got an Ultegra 1000 as well as a Miravel 1000... I actually prefer the Miravel.

Miravel is better but I've used the current Nasci for a season and it's a great reel.

You'll be happy

I must agree.

I'm on the river and nothing beats a big reel for line pickup

They are the same reels based on the Sahara. Depending on what you use it for, the Sahara could be another option. The Sahara is the base reel, the Nasci has an extra bearing and water resistant seals, then Miravel is lighter and made from CI4. I fish freshwater 90% of the time so I went with the Sahara. If you want to see how tough they are you can check out MDLR's videos. He uses 500 sized reels to catch speckled trout and slot reds. Before he had a Sahara and in his more recent videos he switched to a Nasci.

Like them both. Not much difference in my opinion. I fished the previous Nasci pretty hard and also own the Miravel. Both solid choices.

If your looking at the 1000 size, the emphasis is on a light reel and the Miravel will give you that.

Thanks guys for the responses.  Looks like I'm buying a Miravel.

Does the Ci4 body flex more vs the aluminum frame of the Nasci?

I haven't noticed a difference between my Miravel 2500 and my Supreme 30 (Magnesium frame)
