Looking for a specific type of worm...

I'm always thinking of new ways (for me) to catch fish. I have a lot of #4 to #8 hooks for panfish. I'd like to find some extremely thin 4 or 5 inch worms that I could wacky rig to catch bluegill or whatever would bite. The Zoom Finesse and Trick Worms are just a touch too thick for the smallest hooks and there wouldn't be much room for a good hook-set. I used to be able to find "trout" worms that would fit the bill, but most of the ones I see on-line now aren't very long (2+ inches) or look too thick for what I need. I've found some 3 inch worms made by Bearking but would prefer not having to wait a month to ship from China and would like something a bit longer.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I looked at a Roboworm yesterday at Bass Pro, but they looked very similar in width to the Finesse/Trick worms so I didn't buy any.

Thanks in advance!

The JDM market has what you are looking for. Go to The Hookup Tackle website and look at:

Raid Japan Adjustaworm Straight

Evergreen Bow Worm

Dolive Crawler Slim

OSP MMZ (my very favorite for this technique)

Tip: I cut the 10 inch worms in half if I need to downsize, but the 10 rigged wacky gets smashed.

@Big Swimbait Thanks for this. Never heard of any of these companies and had never seen this website. Looks like everything I've been looking for!

Check out 13 Fishing Ultra Thin Joystick worm at discount tackle. They’re on sale $5 for 6 packs or $1 a pack. The 4.5” are ultra thin and if you wanted a straight worm I would just pinch off the kicker legs. 5.5” ones are thickness of say a finesse worm. The 4.5” is like the thickness of 4” Berkley Power Worm.

Thanks for this. Never seen them locally. I'll have to look around for them.

Just checked them out, too. The prices are too good to pass up. Ordered the 4.5. Even the shipping was cheap. I hadn't seen that website before, either. It'll be bookmarked. :thumbsup_blue:

If you want, I'll throw a couple in an envelope and send them along.

Would probably last you a season.

If you decide you like the presentation, Jackall's Flick Shake might fit the bill.

Power bait makes some for trout (and bass eat them)

I put those on hair jigs and marabou jigs all the time.

I think they call them steelhead worms.

Excellent suggestion!

3.8" would work.   And the smallest is 2.8"

I think the Ysmamoto Kut Tail Worm in 3.5" is a great choice too.

I got some of those 3.8" Flick shakes in a trade and they are magnets for any small fish. Biggest bass has been a 11" SM but I did catch a 13" Goggle-eye along with a rainbow trout on them.
