Guys how many of you are familiar with AC Shiners? A friend of mine who lives in northern New York told me last year he took some perch colored AC Shiners, put Gama trebles on them, and then added some suspend tape so they would almost suspend. He said he crushed smallies on them last year. Said he was in a boat with a guy using Vision 110's, and he out fished him 3-1. Said it was so bad the guy put down his Visions and used one of his modified lures. Just got me curious.

No personal experience but have read from others on other forums that they are well liked. Balsa bait like Rapala. I thought they were discontinued...could be wrong

If every lure was made the way the AC Shiner was made the fishing world would be a much better place.  The founder Arthur Schoultheis died last year and the company has closed.  Here’s a great video of their story.

I've been using AC Shiners for years and can assure you they catch fish. They are my favorite balsa wood floating jerkbait. My experience is using them as a topwater bait for largemouths.

I use the #450 size in gold/black back/orange belly or silver/black back. Thankfully I have a good supply of each.

I used to use the ultra light and smaller versions while wading creeks in middle TN. Like @riverat said, they work.

I was at a small tackle shop yesterday, and they had probably 20 or more of them. Guess I should buy a few since they are no longer made.
