Hi all, I have a helix 7 that I use on my wilderness atak 120. I haven’t used the helix much, should I get the navtronics sd card for help with NJ lakes/reservoirs?

thanks

Which card to get is going to be regional, or even lake by lake.   I have Navionics, and C-map.  One lake that occasionally is terrible on Navionics.  Another is terrible on C-map.

If I had Humminbird stuff my first card would be Lakemaster.

You can check navionics online for the likes of interest. Load it up on your phone browser and compare to what you see on the ground.

for spruce run navionics is pretty close. For round valley nothing I’ll be close unless you can depth offset because it’s still 25’ low or more last I checked. Other lakes around will vary.

Thanks cast, I’ve been poking around the navionics app. Good to know it’s close on spruce run, I fish there often. My home lake is assunpink, and this year I want to fish furnace lake a few times…I’ll compare the lakemaster and novionics…I have some time till spring comes around…thanks

If you mean Oxford furnace it’s pretty close. It isn’t close enough if you were running at speed with a big motor but since it’s electric only you’ll see where it shallows up in real life that’s not on the map. I fish Oxford furnace a half dozen times a year since it’s only 30 minutes for me.

I run birds on my boat and I would recommend Lakemaster on a Humminbird. I run smart strike version of Lakemaster but I fish different lakes. If you concentrate around your area Lakemaster northeast version would suite your needs.

Yes Oxford furnace is the lake I was referring to, I was not aware of another furnace lake in nj. Good to know it’s close in that lake. A friend of mine did well there last year…thanks for responding

I think there are a couple with furnace in the name but all smaller (they were water supplies for old furnaces).

if you get up this way shoot me a note. I’m ~30 minutes to furnace, spruce, and round valley. I’m even closer to the lakes just off 80.

Sounds good, thanks

Helix 7 does have depth offset feature, I was playing with that setting on mine a few weeks ago. I"m not sure if it works with all cards or not, but it should work with lakemaster at least.
