Dogface Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 I guess I have no style. What I do and how I do it depends on many variables like "what" I'm fishing for, where I'm fishing, the weather, etc. And many times it depends on how I feel. Do I feel like taking it slowly and picking apart cover or do I want to beat my way down a bank to cover as much water as possible? I guess the best description is I try to adapt to the situation at hand and most importantly enjoy it. 2 Quote

Bazoo Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 Power, confidence, research, luck. I rarely do anything finessy, I am a power fisherman. I go to my confidence baits, and I use them for hours without a bite but still have confidence in them. I research new lures and techniques and try those a lot too, as well as researching my quarries habits, which helps in coaxing them into biting. Sometimes I get lucky 2 Quote
TheSwearingAngler Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 Addicted, Lunatic. not a little addicted, more like a legit crackhead… If I’m conscious, not at work, and the H2O is in liquid state I’m fishing… drop the canoe in at sunrise, fish a few hours before work, hit the bank at a different pond during lunch, hit the bank at a third pond after dinner. I dream about it, watch a YouTube video about a technique I “need” to be throwing and place an order at TW… truthfully at first I told my wife it’s cheaper than a “real addiction”, we’ve lost people to drugs/alcohol etc but at this point I’m not sure that’s true. I’ve been offered a job making 40% more $$$ and my number one point against leaving my current job is the new job will cut into my fishing time.. a little, not a lot but enough to hurt. When I think about moving I think about going somewhere warmer so I can fish all year. I will say this I had an incredible 2023, and it wouldn’t have been as productive if bass fishing was just some casual hobby that I just did when there was nothing good on TV or sneaking out for an hour while my wife went shopping. I am consumed and that’s okay. tight lines fellow lunatics. 2 Quote

Bazoo Posted January 24, 2024 Posted January 24, 2024 Money isn't everything. Got to have time for yourself and the things you enjoy. For me, that's Guns, hunting, fishing, knives. 1 Quote

I enjoy sneaking into remote spots and then watching for a fish's movement and then fishing for it. 2 Quote
NittyGrittyBoy Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 ~Topwater Fanatic~ I literally throw topwaters all day. Favorite style of fishing hands down. Topwater Charlie Orme is hands down my bass fishing hero. What I would give for 1 day on the water with him. 1 Quote
Super User DogBone_384 Posted January 28, 2024 Super User Posted January 28, 2024 I try to fish like @Fishing Rhino, @Saltysmalljaws, and @Mr. Aquarium, but never seem to figure out how to get beyond my current ability. 2 Quote

Right when I said "it's not the right time of year for that" she caught the biggest bass of the day at 3.5 pounds. I see you're in SGA too. Weather was great for fishing yesterday. Today is terrible. Typical. 2 Quote
