These upside down jerkbaits look interesting. I kind of want to get some and try them for suspending smallmouth. I have no experience with this kind of bait and have really never seen anything like them. Gimmick or has some potential? And yes I have too much time on my hands in the winter but never picked up the helicopter lure or the banjo minnow. The upside down jerkbait now that’s something I can get behind! Let me know your thoughts.

I don’t see it doing anything a spybait can’t do, except maybe go backwards. Regardless, it seems really technique-specific to FFS; I wonder if it’ll actually do well commercially.

It's a copy of bigger version of the Jackall Riser Bait 007.

I am interested cuz the Riser does skim on top of the water, but I would like a bigger(the Krej) version than a finesse version.

I don't see the riser being anywhere at all similar to the krej. The riser is one of the most situational and timing exclusive baits I have ever seen and I think a yellow magic or popper is a better option when you run into those scenarios.

The krej is interesting but I agree with the take above that a spybait will work just as well in those situations.

They look very interesting and I can see them being useful in a few situations.

I'd be interested how it would do from the bank. Since you are reeling uphill, jerking it down to up would be awesome.

Im sure you could catch on it working it like a standard JB, but its optimized for FFS.  Its interesting to see how many companies are building baits specifically for FFS.  Now it seems everyone has some kind of 3" finesse bait and 90* jighead combo.

I ordered four of them to use coming up the hill on my ripraps. The demo looks like what I dream of doing on that pier. I always get my 110s stuck in the rocks and filamentous algae which limits how fast I can recast and sometimes costs me money. Also makes it difficult this time year when they're lethargic tight up on the rocks. This might be a winter game changer for me. Or I may have also wiped my behind with 60 bucks. Will report back with results!!

Been seeing this bait around the internet. I always thought "well that's an odd name". It just hit me that Krej is Jerk backwards. 🤦‍♂️

If that's the case, Kyoyo Fujita must have a suitcase of them already.

I'm officially a grumpy old man. It's not something I'd use. It is interesting though and their marketing to the FFS crowd seems on point. Just makes me feel a little out of touch.

So not thinking about it.

I think it’s good idea to have a lure that sinks then swims back up. Actually a Scrounger jig can do this but doesn’t look like a jerk bait but don’t tell the bass!

I think the berkley finisher looks very interesting as well.  The finisher I believe wouldn’t be as FFS depended as the krej.  the finisher is like a jerk bait, lipless crank, and jigging rap rolled into one.

I just watched the Krej YouTube video from Berkley.  So this bait is designed to sink back down to the suspended bass tail first after you give it a jerk or a twitch with the rod?  For years I have heard that you want a slow-sinking jerkbait to fall head first to the bass not tail first.  I'm probably missing something here.

Same concept as the Rapala countdown minnow but with a reversed bill. If you watch the promo video it does shimmy tail first on the sink kinda like a flutter spoon. I'm sure it will work with FFS because you can visually track it to the depth the fish are holding. Without FFS you need to determine how fast it falls in the water & then count it down to the depth you want to cover. It should help the anglers who want to fish a jerk bait deeper than they can achieve with a regular suspending bait.

Im on the fence with this one. Neat idea and the bait shimmies so good on the way back down but at the same time feels gimmicky. Either way on this ill screw up. Ill either buy 3-4 and not get a bite or ill not buy and it will be the hottest bait of 2023.
