ghost Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Dual BFS swimbait rig. Actually it's an old Roadrunner Reality Shad Buffet Rig. I threw on the paddle tails instead of the chubby Crappie bodies that were stock to this rig. Bottom swimbait is 1/8oz jighead and top is 1/16oz jighead. Surprisingly, this dual rig casts good and far, also when reeling in; it swims vertical. Like the heavier jig is on the bottom and lighter jig is on top, perpendicular to each other...as long as you do a steady retrieve and don't burn it in. I have 2 or 3 spares of these rigs. I may try it out with a 1/8oz and 1/16oz chatterbaits. I can only imagine how much vibration it'll throw off. Hopefully it'll swim correctly. Or I may figure out how to rig with a couple BFS crankbaits or minnows. I see much potential in this dual rig! I haven't thrown this rig in years and forgot I had it in my pack. When the weather warms up, I think this will be bitchin' fish catchin' rig to use! Here's the chatterbait rig I just did up. 1/8oz on bottom, 1/16 oz on top. Total weight 3/8oz. Another hair brain idea for a BFS type lure. Not sure what the weedless drop shot hook is. I added a small split shot on the middle bottom( super glued the split shot so it stays in place) for I'm hoping a horizontal fall with soft plastic. That's a Lake Fork Live Baby Shad, 2.25". I can also try a Zoom Tiny Fluke 3", and a Zoom Salty Super Fluke 4". The 1st pic with the 2.25" baby shad weighs at 1/8oz. With all 3 shad bodies, I should be able to cast the distance I want and get the sink rate to mimic a dying small shad when I shake twitch the rod. I'll have to wait till this coming weekend to give it a go. 6 Quote
RRocket Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Nice!! Looks like fun. Are the chatterbait home made? 1 Quote

ghost Posted January 15, 2024 Author Posted January 15, 2024 RRocket, the chatterbaits are not home made. Those are from Zman. Quote
Super User WRB Posted January 15, 2024 Super User Posted January 15, 2024 I wouldn’t go BFS with that rig. Looks good and will catch bass. Tom 2 Quote
