FrnkNsteen Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 I was at the local shop yesterday and was looking through all the new stock they got in while prepping for their fishing expo next weekend. This caught my eye. Anyone have any experience with these 1stGEN FlashX swim jigs. I kind of like the look of the titanium wire overspin swimjig so thought I'd try one. Just hope the wire isn't too stiff and affects hookups. No worse than a bluegill spine I would imagine. Curious if anyone has tried them? 2 Quote
ghost Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Doesn't work. I bought one, the flexible wire bends too much and fouls up, also it spins more when reeled. It's not stable at all. I guess it's more for bottom contact, where it's bounced on the bottom and the blade has a bit of flash. 1 Quote

Well, that's disappointing. Did you try it with a paddletail or something on it to see if that helps stabilize it? Baby Rage Menace rigged vertical maybe? 1 Quote
Super User FishTank Posted January 14, 2024 Super User Posted January 14, 2024 You can tell by looking at how close the wire is to the hook, that this might not work unless you super slow roll it. They should have copied the Megabass Uoze design and put the wire on the bottom. Quote

I like the concept, which is why I bought one. I'll have to play around with it a bit this spring. It's 0 degrees here right now, so even the farm ponds are experiencing hard water issues! 😊 1 Quote
ghost Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 Hey Franknsteen, use that lure now that it's butt cold there. The cold may stiffen the Ti wire so it won't be so flimsy. 😉😁😄 I think I slapped on a paddle tail when I used it. Same deal though, the Ti wire didn't do justice to the lure. 1 Quote
Super User Munkin Posted January 15, 2024 Super User Posted January 15, 2024 Strike King made one of those 20+ years ago called the Flip-N-Spin or something like that? Allen 1 Quote
