Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted January 8, 2024 Global Moderator Posted January 8, 2024 It’s no big secret I’m a Wolverine fan. Washington’s QB has a cannon but they haven’t been up against a defense as good as Michigan’s. On top of that Washington (from what I read) isn't good at stopping the run game which Michigan loves. I think Michigan takes this game 31-21. Who ya got? 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted January 8, 2024 Super User Posted January 8, 2024 No skin in the game, but plan to watch. I see that Michigan is favored by 4.5 points. I'll go with the underdog. Washington by 3. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted January 8, 2024 Super User Posted January 8, 2024 Well you know where I live - So I wouldn't feel safe not pulling for the Wolverines. Especially while I sleep. Should be a good game though. 🤓 A-Jay 2 Quote

Sort of like now. The 20 or so year run of winning all the time was a nice break. But now were back to what I'm used to. My son's pretty bummed out about it though. They've been winning just about his whole life. #backtoreality A-Jay 1 1 Quote
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted January 8, 2024 Super User Posted January 8, 2024 Michigan is the best team in the country and Washington isn’t in the top ten. That doesn’t mean Washington can’t win because the ball bounces where it will but I’ll take Michigan by 14. 3 Quote
Super User gim Posted January 8, 2024 Super User Posted January 8, 2024 Been a while since a team from the SEC didn't play in this game. 3 Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted January 8, 2024 Super User Posted January 8, 2024 Well I'm not picking the team up north so go huskies. 1 Quote

Michigan 23, Washington 13 My brother was right...he thought this game would be decided by the men in stripes. He thought ff Michigan's DB's were allowed to man-handle Washington's receivers, and there were a few holding calls on Husky O-lineman, it was going to be a long night. Michigan controlled the line of scrimmage, ran for 300+ yards, and played to keep Husky receivers from getting deep. Welcome to B1G football. Quote

To be fair 73 for Washington was moving almost every play in the fourth quarter. 1 Quote

I was fearful the refs would call lots of tick-tack DPI penalties, and turn the game in to a Bid 12 type shoot-out. Nope, Michigan won by playing great defense, stopping the run / forcing UW to throw the ball. And Michigan ran the ball, controlled the clock, and wore them down. Great recipe for success. 73 had a rough night. 1 Quote

That's a lot of freaking yardage on the ground. And the clock runs most of the time when you are running the ball. 2 Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 10, 2024 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 10, 2024 Penix was seriously injured by the end of the game from getting hit - hard - over and over and over again, yet not a single flag. While I hate over-officiating, this was the opposite. Many, many more egregious non-calls, particularly PI. And then there was the holding call that wasn't, which completely handed the game over to Michigan on a silver platter. SMH 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted January 10, 2024 Super User Posted January 10, 2024 Georgia should have been there. Congratulations to Michigan. 1 Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 10, 2024 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 10, 2024 Somewhat true?? ^^ it's this last one that really got me. ^^ and then after all this, the no-holding holding call was made that effectively ended the game. Just ridiculous. 1 1 1 Quote

Super User Tennessee Boy Posted January 10, 2024 Super User Posted January 10, 2024 Those images look real to me and they look like holds. Let’s give Washington 3 points for each one. New score Michigan 34 Washington 28 😁 2 Quote
greentrout Posted January 10, 2024 Posted January 10, 2024 The SEC won 6 games during the FBS playoff Era the last ten years. ACC won 2. And the big 10 won 2. I saw 'em all. Michigan is an outstanding championship team. I'm an SEC man. 1 Quote
