tbird Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I have one Gblank rod a 6'6" medium XF split handle , while it is definatley a well made rod and super light that casts well it is lacking in the sensitivity department. As I indicated I only have one of these rods and I understand that they make them with several different levels of blanks . Just my 2 cents worth. Quote
Fishing Doug Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I have one but have not used it yet. I was drawn to it simply due to the no fore grip, split rear grip design without having to have a custom rod made. I have tossed a few jigs with it to get a feel for the rod and it appears to be very sensitive and it is comparable in weight to my IMX MBR743. one drawback is you do not have the lifetime warranty that you will find with rods just above that price point. The_Natural Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 They felt tip heavy to me, but then again every split grip I've held seems that way. If they would just make the rear grip longer for me, I bet it would solve the problem. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted December 5, 2006 Super User Posted December 5, 2006 I have used several of their rods. I own a GBlank dropshot spinning rod and I love it. They are good quality and for the price they are a deal. Quote
The_Natural Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I forgot to add that they are indeed quality rods...he uses Shikari SHX blanks. Quote
George Welcome Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 I would suggest you go read the comments page: http://www.cgi2you.com/cgi-bin/guestbook.pl?user=gblank&whatdo=view Quote
archer292 Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 I have posted on several fishing sites asking about these rods. I purchased one on a rainshadow blank and wanted someone elses opinion of it. It is 6'10" med xfst billed for small cranks and top water and also drop shot. Sensativity is where I feel this rod may be lacking. I should add that I have not been able to fish it much due to the weather and family obligations. I ordered a 6'9" med hvy fst on the shikari blank and am waiting for delivery. The shikari blank seems to be what everybody else has and I haven't heard anything negative about them so far. I'm wondering if the first post on this thread " Lacking sensativity" is about one built on a rainshadow blank. Quote
