Im looking for a good quality saltwater reel that i can use off the beach on boats or from piers and docks and i would like it to be 100$ or under i want it for snook and also be able to handle a big fight for bigger fish.

One word about Penn Reels, if you Buy one, try to find some of the old stock that is still made in the USA, all the newer ones are being made in China. I found some 450 ssg's that were made in the USA, and some 550 ssg's made in China.  Another good choice would be the Shimano Spheros series. I would get it in either the 5000 or 6000 series, just for the line capacity.

Hope this helps,

Tony

Look at the shimano Cardiff reel.  A good all metal bodied reel for 100 bucks.  They have 3 different reels to choose from depending on line capacities.  I used it when i started fishing salt but use it now as well for bass fishing.   :)

For saltwater you have a wide choice

From your budget, I have a few in mind:

As already mentioned the spheros is great, the Okuma V system, The daiwa Caldia kix, the tica taurus, the tica sortera, Shimano Qd... ect

What are you looking to do with it?  I know you said saltwater from boats, beach, piers and docks but are you talking about tossing 5 oz spoons/jigs, live bait rigs, plugs, surfcasting, etc...?

Either way, you'll probably want to look at a higher line capacity reel.  If you're looking for a baitcaster, perhaps an Abu Ambassador 5500 or 6500...

Being that I live in South Fla, I do a lot of saltwater fishing. I use my reels for fishing for bass, bonefish, permit as well as yellowtails. I use the stradics 2500 and 5000. I love these reels and they work very well in both waters. When using them in saltwater remember to wash them down real good.
