I have a DT-6 in parrot that catches everything that swims except bass. It has a funny swim to it. The rolling is very exaggerated and oftentimes the vibration will feel close to a colorado blade. I have caught over 20 white bass, 4 catfish, a perch, and a bluegill on this crankbait. Yet no bass. Just felt like sharing. It’s pretty funny to me. Thoughts on this crankbait?

No two wood baits run the same. There is probably a lighter or more dense part of that lure making it react that way. Musky wooden baits are hand made and most of them get tank or pond tested before sold. Even then they still have distinct wobbles of their own.

You may get two of the exact same bait but one catches way more fish than the other. It is interesting how a little more or less movement makes or breaks it’s catching ability

@LrgmouthShad If you have time & near water (a bathtub might do), you might check the line tie area & see if it needs tuning.

If you do this, don't let friends or family know.  They may start questioning your over all mental health.  The word obsession may start coming up often in casual conversation.  I have been there and done that. If you do get caught, and they ask you what you expect to catch fishing in a bathtub. just tell them the same as when I'm fishing on a lake.  Whatever will bite.

I have also caught a lot of catfish on the parrot color at my lake in NC.

Heck yeah. My favorite shad imitation color in that DT line, for sure

@RipzLipz I understand the ambiguity. All channel catfish. I think @Bluebasser86 catches quite a few flatheads on artificials throughout the year.

I am surprised to not catch a catfish on Badin this winter. That lake is littered with them. I caught many on spinnerbaits summer ‘22. Again, all channels. I have never caught a flathead. Kinda bothers me actually.

@LrgmouthShad Just curious. I’ve never caught a flathead. Saw one in a strip pit that I didn’t want any part of. Probably 30+ lber - hard telling, was a big one for sure.

DT-6 is my #1 crankbait, and all-time has accounted for more smallies for me than most other baits. Love Bluegill, Perch, and Live Pumpkinseed patterns. Sometimes you gotta bend the eye a little to get em to run true.

@Woody B absolutely awesome. What was weight on that flathead? I see you holding the scale.

I've caught one this year (last year now) that was 37, and one that was 42.  Both of them were on DT6's  I don't remember which one this is.   I caught one in April 2022 that was 53 pounds on a Bandit 200.   I never caught any over 15 pounds back when I would target cats.

I have a Cordell jerkbait that only catches walleye? No other fish just walleye for some unknown reason. Not sure if its the specific color or just that one bait? The exact bait in another color catches bass and sometimes channel cats. As for flatheads they seem to like jigs dragged along the bottom.

Definitely don't try this with your wife -in- said bathtub.

Hey honey look at my new lure.

I've got a glide bait that mostly catches catfish.  Both channels and flatheads.

I'm inclined to think it could just be luck or maybe where you're fishing with it.  In my experience, pretty much anything that will catch white bass will catch black bass.  Not always vice versa though (white bass don't seem to go for bottom contact lures to often).  Often the difference is where you're fishing.

But who knows.  There could be something unique about this bait that turns black bass off.

I’ve got to restock my Dt’s, I’ve lost a whole 3600 box of them a while back. I hope somebody found them and putting them to good use.

I’ve got Berkeley Maxscent that only catch a lot of catfish, kind understand that, they smell.
I’ve got some whooper ploppers that catch nothing.

Just limit that to the deadly worm & all should be fine. Heh heh.

"Hey baby, check out the new new lure I got for ya." *helicopter*
