What a wife I have…the nerve of her to tell me what to do. Can you believe that she told me to go fishing Friday…that’s right flat out told me to go fishing. I’m going to have to listen to her just this time. I don’t want to lose my fish card…

Did you go fishing?  If you did, when you got back home was the door locked with new locks and, all your belongings sitting on the lawn?  If this is the case, you can go fishing tomorrow.  If she was home and all is normal, buy her some flowers, and take her to dinner, she may tell you go fishing more often.  Either way you get to go fishing again.

I get the humor behind this, but I've never understood this reality for so many men, where they can't do the things they like because of angry wives. Mine always wants me to do what makes me happy, and vice versa. If I ever thought I would have to walk on eggshells around my hobbies, things wouldn't have gone any further. This is a serious problem in western society these days. Men scared of domineering women.

It's because the younger generations of men lost their balls when the women in their lives joined the workforce. They've become dependent on her income and because of that, they are at the mercy of their women. That's the way it should have been since Adam and Eve.  I know this to be true because my wife told me so and she's always right as are all women.  :stupid:

I had 2 different ex-girlfriends get all up in arms about how much fishing I did, and tried to get me go less.

That's why they're EX-girlfriends. 😎

When I met my (future) wife, I told her on one of our first dates, "Look, I fish a lot....no, really, A LOT!  That means I spend most weekends on the water.  Fishing isn't what I do, it's who I am.

Now, you're welcome to try it if you want.  If you like it, great.  If you don't, that's fine too.  But what you can never do, is tell me I can't go fishing.  That will never work with me."

She tried it in my aluminum BassTracker-style boat, and immediately told me that if I expected her to go fishing with me I would need a bigger boat.

We'll be married 20 years in February.

I’m sorry but I have to one up you. My wife went all out for Christmas and got me a bottle of Prevogen, a Copper Fit knee brace and a Popeye Pez dispenser.  That’s what 50 years of marriage gets you.  Here’s some sage advice to you younger folks, when your wife tells you should go fishing, check your wallet before you leave.

My wife was checking the weather yesterday to see when we can all go out and test out Christmas fishing lures offshore! (It's been torrentially raining for 4 days)

I picked a good one.  Been married 11 years this past July.

Our agreement pretty much is the weekends she doesn’t work I do not fish. After that it’s free game. Even some of those weekends her and I might go if the weather is perfect. She is not into fishing though. I also am lucky that our “vacations” are pretty much just to a cabin at a lake somewhere so I can fish. She likes the get away.

we were married 2 weeks she said well I have everything I have been wanting you can go buy the boat you want.  She knows me going fishing is a very important factor in the happiness of our relationship.

keep her happy and she’ll keep you fishing

I guess I'm lucky. 42 years of marriage. My wife knows I love fishing. It's my thing. She never has complained about it. And, I encourage her to go with me.

My wife’s the best. Last year she bought me my bass tracker for Christmas. For my birthday she got me a new fish finder and then spent a week fishing with me at Santee Cooper and Lake Murray.
She loves going out on the water with me when it’s not cold. I put in a lot of overtime and she knows how much I love to fish so tomorrow I will be fishing. Y’all are funny though
