Since the holidays are over and there was lots of online ordering to be had.

I thought the shipping speed and order fulfillment from most places was very good. I had packages arrive early or on time. None were ever late. Whether it was USPS, UPS, fed ex.

Did anyone else have the same results? Was I just lucky?

Everything I ordered was early or on time. I’m guessing much of it depends through which hubs packages pass in regards to potential delays.

My wife had 1 package that was a couple days late, but other than that all were on time or early. All orders were shipped out extremely quickly too.

I got screwed twice on timings. Both things that had guaranteed delivery dates. One I sent to our house because it was guaranteed before we were to drive back to Pittsburgh. The other was to deliver on the 22nd so I sent it here from the start. Of course we missed the one sent home by a day and the one sent to Pittsburgh by a day. At least the one sent home will be there when we get back. I’ll have to have my father in law send me the other.  Both were Christmas gifts for my wife.

Can’t comment on packages, as I rarely order items online.

My mail may or may not come on any given day. Been like that since I lived here, about 1.5 years now. My regular carrier has told me directly that if he is out, there will not be any delivery because there aren’t any subs to complete his route.

Same problem here. At least 2 days out of the 6 day workweek for USPS, the truck never comes down my road at all. We also had one carrier that would constantly deliver packages addressed to my house one street over to a guy with the same house number. Luckily, I live out in the sticks where you know your neighbors and he'd always let me know.

At my house it’s not a problem but most people in my neighborhood pick up their packages from the post office instead of having them left on the porch. Porch pirates are rampant

This causes me to make 'the face'.

It's the one where I release the hounds and there's going to be screaming & attempted escape.

(notice I said attempted).

Among other things.

Stealing from others can be risky business.

You'd be surprised how many people don't even know you can do this.  My neighborhood is not that kind of area and I rarely have anything delivered, but my brother who lives in north Chicago never has a box delivered to his address.  It goes directly to the nearest post office every time so he can pick it up safely.

The funny part of it all to me is now everyone has a doorbell camera so they can watch people steal their packages and still never catch them

Haha, that's probably true.  The police aint gonna do anything about a stolen package either.

I'd rather buy it in the store and ship it in my own car anyways.

@gimruis, what would be even cooler is if you got paid a UPS driver salary to ship your stuff home driving it in your own truck

We didn’t have any issues with our packages being late or not delivered. We did have issues with Amazon dropping packages off that belonged to a couple across the street who just built a house and moved in probably two months ago. Our house number is 11852 and their’s is 11825. This happened several times and I finally was able to wrangle one of the drivers to let them know. I told him this had been an on going issue, the names were different, and most importantly the addresses were different. He replied with, “this is where Amazon has the pin for their address.” He took it over there thankfully. After many complaints to Amazon from the neighbors, it seems to have finally been resolved or they haven’t order anything in over a week.

Couple weeks ago I had a pkg. Due on the 14th. About 4 a.m. it had arrived at the post office thats a 3 minute walk from my house.by 7 a.m. it had been moved to a p.o. about 20 minutes north of me. By 3 a.m. the 15th it was at a central sorting facility an hour away 10 miles north of Boston. on the 16th it went back to the p.o. 20 min from me and then back to my home p.o. and finally delivered.

I’ve had a lot of problems mostly with USPS. I shipped out a package the day after Thanksgiving that was supposed to take 3 days. It took 3 weeks. Meds that I get mailed to me usually take 2 days, took two weeks. My wife had one package that took 5 weeks.

I don't think you're the only one.  The problems associated with the post office over the years are well documented.  They are mandated by federal law to deliver 6 days/week.

I don't want to get too deep into it because some of it is politically-related.  My regular carrier has told me directly to my face that if he is out, the mail will not be delivered because there aren't enough subs to complete his route.

My wife recently sent a package that was lost by the USPS.  The tracking said it was in our local post office in Tennessee at 3 AM,  then went out for delivery in Kansas at 6 AM,  then was back at the same local post office at 10 AM.  I’ve never seen anything associated with the post office that was that fast.  They eventually found the package in a local post office annex and said it was on it’s way to Kansas.  That was a week ago and it still has not been delivered.

Still waiting on one item, but it's coming from a kind of boutique Lego kit builder that's absolutely swamped with orders. So that's kind of to be expected.

Everything else came exactly when I was told to expect it.

The only mishap we had was due to the dogs.

I had some problems with the retailers, but not shipping.  We received everything when they said we would.
