Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted April 3, 2024 Global Moderator Posted April 3, 2024 Well by your criteria none exist on earth , I’m just talking about normal masters of live sonar. All of those guys could catch bass before it came out anyhow I find it funny the ones complaining the most didn’t show up Quote

Would like to see how he does in an event like that. Here's an intuitive angling thought: Walk the walk Randy. Instead of just talking. 2 3 Quote

flatcreek Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 Maybe Randy didn’t have 5 grand in his mason jar to pony up 1 Quote
volzfan59 Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 You mean to tell me that Randy Blauket didn't enter? After all the whining he's been doing about FFS, this tournament is right down his alley. 3 Quote
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted April 3, 2024 Super User Posted April 3, 2024 Randy is not really a pro angler, he’s a YouTube star. Some watch because he’s championing their cause. Some watch be because they hate the cause. He gets paid either way. He would have everything to lose and nothing to gain by entering this tournament. The more this tournament succeeds the less he has to complain about. 2 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted April 3, 2024 Global Moderator Posted April 3, 2024 Gussy to Jamie Bruce on the topic, I’m paraphrasing with Canadian accent: “ I don’t think he would gain any followers by coming over here and getting his tail kicked “ 1 3 Quote

Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted April 3, 2024 Super User Posted April 3, 2024 Chris Johnston is running away with this derby. Back to back almost 25lb bags on a Spotted Bass fishery is incredible. Him and his brother are both two very likable dudes. Hopefully Gussy makes the top 12 so he can recoup his entry fee. Hate seeing Cox and Carson not make a check. No real surprising in the top 10......local hammers and Elite Series anglers. 2 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted April 3, 2024 Global Moderator Posted April 3, 2024 I heard about some big largemouth being brought in, one over 7 lbs. it’s a wonder they can even find supper with all those Alabama bass around…. 😂 Quote
flatcreek Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 I’m trying to get the day 2 weigh in on my phone but it keeps showing day 1. Quote

Pat Brown Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 Two 25 lb days is insane. This dude is legit. Quote
mcipinkie Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 47 entries, most of which I never heard of. I assume local sticks. Caught 'em pretty good, though. Too good ? The debate will start soon. Would the scopers have caught more? If not, then scoping ain't the key to success. Just good fishing skills and probably local knowledge. Same as always. I'll bet most of the 47 had FFS on their boat before the derby, so had to disable just to fish. I like the idea of a circuit without FFS. I like a choice. Hope it does well. Don't really see how it can unless some non-fishing sponsors. Money just doesn't pan out. Paying out $225K of $235K entries. Just a big local derby like we fish here. 50 boats. 1 in 7 pay. $200 entry instead of $5K, but basically the same. I'd fish non-FFS derbies here in Missouri if available. Not at $5K and no practice. Not at $200 and no practice except on one or two lakes. Good Luck !! Quote

I was being sarcastic, Randy's no longer a stick at any level. Just thought that this was right in his lane. 1 Quote
flatcreek Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 Congratulations to Chris Johnston. He said before tournament it was his favorite lake in the South and he knows his stuff.lots of nice bags,Lanier showed out. 1 Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted April 4, 2024 Super User Posted April 4, 2024 Appears this was a sight fishing derby, Drew Cook said he caught all his fish the first two days on the bed. Congrats to Chris, very deserving dude! 2 Quote
flatcreek Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 Wow,I’d think the spots would be out deeper on brushpiles. Was he up in the river fishing for largemouth? Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted April 4, 2024 Super User Posted April 4, 2024 I'm not sure where he caught them, it was just one of those "reels" on FB that only last about 30secs. Chris had one as well, he said he got big fish of the derby with a 8lb LM. Suspect he caught it off the bed as well. What little bit of the weigh ins I watched, I was surprised by the amount of quality LMs being weighed in. Makes sense now though. Quote
flatcreek Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 Well don’t tell anyone about the largemouth up in the river please lol 1 Quote
