Are these rods lighter than rated. 3/4 oz seems light for a heavy action. Kinda like Dobyns ratings to me. Are the rods any good. I'm hoping so because I just pulled the trigger on one.

I’ve fished the HFX rods from 7’ medium cranker, 7’3” medium heavy and heavy, as well as the 7’6” heavy.

Super solid rods that fly under the radar for the price point they are at. Nice tips and parabolic to keep them pinned.

I stopped using because I had the itch to try other rods but am honestly thinking about going full fleet of the HFX rods for the 24’ season. I heard they are going to be coming out with a line that replaces their Ti rod lineup. Part of me is waiting to see those first.

Overall, great rods and great customer service and was always pleased with them. Never had an issue and the rods are bulletproof.

They always seemed ok for the price point. I'm sure they will do the job . Halo used to be owned by Louie Zhang who sold it and started Ark.  I believe they are now under the Net Bait umbrella. American something or other is the parent company.

That would be American Bait Works. The rod came today and is waiting for me to get home from the gym. I'll spool up some 15 lb basix on my new Lew's SP reel then cast it in the back yard Sunday in the snow should hopefully give me a good impression.i bought it to skip with. Also want to pitch with it. I'm hoping the action is not to heavy. Judging by the weight listed im imagining it's like a Dobyns. I'll get back to you guys on that.

In-hand, how do you like it? How's the fit & finish?

Unwrapped it last night. It came in a big heavy cardboard tube. It had self adhesive bubble wrap around the middle and both ends.plastic plugs on ends were stapled and taped.plastic wrapper down the length of the rod.the rod itself is flawless. No extra glue or bent guides. Blank is perfectly straight guides are straight. Handle is foam and cork. It's a lot nicer than I thought it would be.action is heavy but not a pool stick.has a gradual tip in between moderate and fast leaning towards fast.the bottom of the blank has reinforcing weave and it goes up fairly high.. Cant wait until March to get out and give it a workout.

Thanks for the reply.

I love trying out new rods, and this one (the 7' cranking model) had caught my eye a while back. I may have to check it out. I really enjoy my more expensive rods, but there's something about finding a "cheaper" gem that seems like it should cost more (sad that $150 is considered somewhat budget-friendly nowadays). I feel that way about the Ark Tharp Honey Badger rods. And I've heard nothing but good things about these HFX rods.

You got it for the Sic guides, right? Great price too.

They are Zirconia which from what I've read is the generic name for alconite. I like the handle. Bps stopped using alconite and I hate the rods with Wynn grips so I'm trying these.

From what I see on line with Halo rods, their butt knobs end in a sharp angle, not very comfortable, IMHO.  I build my own with nice, comfortable, gentle, curves.  🙂
