Okay so basically any plastic on the market

I think this is basically true.  I think 'pick your favorite brand and try something similar to this' is unspoken and always applies!

To me, I basically just need a few different profiles and sizes in a couple colors and that's good enough to get the job done.  It can basically be any brand or product as long as you got a few things that don't do stuff and some that do stuff and some bigger stuff and some smaller stuff etc.

Rage ned bug is my normal finesse go to. Appendages dont really float though, not that that was a criteria when i originally asked. I was curious what other suggestions there were. Seems like alot of different preferences.

This is the last lure I fished this fall on my local river before it got too cold. I went with a trimmed down speed craw.

Why are most ball head jig skirts tied like that? (Most skirts are tied close to the middle, ball head jigs are tied towards one end)

Is it because they are short enough that you can get two jigs out of one normal length skirt?

Finesse jigs tied like the photo are called Lions Mane, gives the lighter weight jigs a different falling motion then the traditional longer double skirt.

For small finesse look at some Crappie soft plastics.

I'd probably go Rage Baby Craw or Rage Ned Craw.  Some other options are Rage Ned Bug, Missile baby D bomb. Rage Baby Menace to name a few.

Front half or back half of a Strike King Fat Baby finesse worm, maybe. If I was using the front half I'd rig it backwards (front tip would be the tail).
