The Flashback Mini has finally made me think about making my own tackle.   Penny sized blade on a 1/8th and 1/4th jighead with light wire 2/0 hook and a TRAILER KEEPER....that's the bait I really need to start making myself.   I've gone through 15-20 Flashback Minis in the last 12-14months, not to mention the design sucks compared to the one above.

@PondProwler9000  That's awesome you're making the Flashback Mini types, can you post a picture?

Still searching for the perfect jig head, preferably one with a flat eye. Started using those damaki amour shads you like, also. Wish they made them in some darker colors.

Thanks for the pics brother!

The jighead design/mold is the thing that keeps me from trying it.   The Flashback Mini has an excellent shape to it.

Damiki released a bunch of new colors if you missed it, I've been fishing one of them PB Silver the last week.

Keep trying to beat that Armor Shad, most recent additions have been the Juggle Minnow, Jerky J 3", Spunk Shad in 3.5".....all of them overwhelm the action of the tiny blade.    That Armor Shad is unbeatable lol.

I'm not pouring, but i have been tempted to get a mold. Do-it makes one that uses flat eye, 60 degree hooks. Problem is, 2/0 is as smallest size for the hooks.

The ball heads are from a guy on ebay. The mini-max wannabe is a barlow's head

If you want smaller hooks then you will have to use an S link. The Do-It Sparkie or Poisontail molds are what most people use to make bladed jigs.

Thanks, Munkin. I figured you would drop some knowledge bombs.

I struck out googling s-link. Could you explain or drop a link? Thanks.

Sorry, man. I didn't check availability before posting the link. They usually always have multiple sizes available.

Here is the size L for reference. I could send you a few, if you like. No charge.

I buy them from Aliexpress and make my own. Been making them in 1/4 and 3/8oz size all year with good success. I think this one is a 3/8oz with a 2/0 hook. 3" Ned Senko for a trailer.

Ive been playing around with making my own minis. Using .018 and .022 thick hobby sheet metal. Im still working on it. Problem with a direct connection to downsized hooks is less space for the blade to shift back and forth. I did have some luck with one in 55-60 degree water but then i went away from it when the water cooled more.

What has your process been for making the blades? I've been curious about making own spinnerbait and chatter blades... buzz too

Here are the different blade sizes you can find. The one on the right is size XL which is the size of a regular chatterbait blade. When I can walk again I will go find my blade stash and post some more pictures.

I just buy a piece of sheetmetal and draw out a blade. You really need a template to trace. I cut them with sheet metal sheers. The edges are serated but that doesnt really matter. For me i just did it to see if i could get them to work. I dont know that it would be economical unless you had a cnc machine to cut them out for you.bur ot is fun to play around with.

I’ve been told to do it both ways. That one being so light, when i had the bend forward it was blowing out of the water. I was bending it around playing with the action. The real issue was using such a small hook, there really wasnt alot of room for the blade to hunt.

I use these, just open the bottom up a little and put the hook on then close it again.

I use a different, highly modified mold, to pour heads down to 1/8oz and up to 1oz.

I know this is an old post but what have you found the best way to connect the blade to be?

Punch out the hook eye then close with pliers after attaching the blade.
