What about hammer handles?  (that's one of the many nicknames used for small northern pike here).

you ever had one fling you across the beach?

I just go fishing. I know what I'm doing. I'm not a professional or expert, but I know how to catch bass and I know what to do. I'm really good at it. Sometimes things don't work out. And that sucks but isn't the end of the world. Try again next time. I just fish for myself and whatever happens, cool.

I’ve been flung, bit, hooked, knocked off my kayak …  crazy sport. These big sharks are no joke! Sometimes I have to swim them out…of course in a pitch black ocean. Kind of a relief bass fishing lol

@gimruis Ironiclly northern pike are on my bucket list. I’ve never caught one. They are super rare in my parts. Northern snakeheads are also on my bucket list.

I will put you on as many slime darts as you can tolerate. Come up here in September and we’ll make an outing of it. We might even catch some bass too.

I’ve been told by dozens of people that I look just like Marv 😂. Me and my wife even went as the wet bandits to a Christmas costume party once and yes there were photos. “Crowbars, up!”

I've been thinking about it and I think I'm like one of those big inflatable hammers that squeaks when you bonk people with it

Am I a Hammer ? Well, sort of.. 😉

You are definitely a hammer!

Tom

Back in the day drag race drivers were recognized by being called “shoe”, never achieved that accolade. Fishing we called good anglers a “good stick” never heard of hammer. Stick works for me.

There's a guy who fishing a local 1500 acre lake all the time.  He's the "The Hammer" on the side of his boat.  He posts all kinds of Bass pictures on social media.   The last time I was at that lake I watched him some.   He'd pull up to an area, take the single Bass out of his livewell, take a picture, then go somewhere else and take a picture of the same fish, with a different background.   I had always heard people who catch fish all the time "sticks" until he put "the hammer" on his boat.  I suppose "hammer" is a new term.

When I raced there were several racers who were called "shoes".   I managed to win an occasionally race.  People called me a "machine", I suppose because I just raced win or lose without showing any emotions.

He should have painted Mr. Make Believe on the side of his boat instead.

I've fished against some hammers, guys that just catch them every time, no matter what. I get lucky sometimes and catch a few.
