Fishydishy Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 So I just received the expride bfs in the mail. I noticed the lure ratings are 3/16-3/4oz, which is different from the website. Anyone have any idea what this is? Quote
Johnpenguin Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Tacklewarehouse could be wrong. If you got it from them I wouldn’t worry about it Quote
Super User WRB Posted December 13, 2023 Super User Posted December 13, 2023 Not a BFS casting rod. Tom Quote
Super User FishTank Posted December 13, 2023 Super User Posted December 13, 2023 I'm with @WRB. I don't think its a BFS rod. Also, everything I've seen on this rod says 3/16 to 3/4. When I was looking for a BFS rod, I thought this one was strange in that the part number (EXC72MLB) for this doesn't have BFS in it but the 6'8'' ML BFS does. Quote
Super User bulldog1935 Posted December 13, 2023 Super User Posted December 13, 2023 Before you send it back, think how you want to fish. It may be true the ML rod was listed improperly. That rod should fish a 1/10-oz loaded Ned and finesse spinnerbaits perfectly. Should also be versatile fishing a range of crankbaits. It probably won't cast a 1/15-oz Ned, and probably not weightless plastics. "BFS" gets used improperly - it's the reel, and too often gets jammed into a limited peg hole. The rod is Baitfinesse You can use BFS reel on many set ups, to take advantage of the threadline you have loaded. 1 Quote
