I'm thinking ahead to next season and I want to try the Megabass Vision Oneten Jr.. I fish a small pond which is pretty shallow which holds perch, golden shiners, and bluegills. I'm looking to buy 2 or 3. What colors would you choose?

Pro Blue, French Pearl OB, and ITO Clear Lake cover a lot of my fishing.

Also, if you can find it, Kasumi Ito has been a good color in every bait I have tried from Megabass.

Look at GG Megabass Kinkuro to mimic the golden shiners & GG Perch OB or GP Pro Perch or Mat Perch.

I'll second @FishTank, Kasumi Ito is my favorite general purpose color, black back, greenish gold and silver reflective side with a touch of blue and purple.  Has a feel for female bluegill, small gizzard shad, and common minnows to me.

I've begun my "collection" thanks to everyone's suggestions. I have several more on order from Japan and there's plenty of time for them to arrive before next season. I just reread my original post that stated I wanted to buy 2 or 3. Yea right.....

I also have replacement hooks from VMC. Owner, & Katsuage to have on hand if needed.

Thanks for the recommendations. Breaking the code & language cyphers is somewhat challenging but at the same time quite interesting.IMG_5471.JPG.746b82fd32a12606775aca690546c93d.JPG

^ This - always. If it's an undressed treble hook, it gets a cap.

Nice collection. If you get any more, I highly recommend Mat Shad. Just a great color that works in pretty much every condition.

Be mindful that changing hooks and split rings can, and probably will, affect the buoyancy and the angle that the bait sits in the water. For a Vision 110, this is a big part of the baits performance. I'm not saying there is always only one way to make it work, rather to say that changes are likely to alter the way it acts and you may, or may not, want to do that.

Yes, I'm aware of the impacts replacing the trebles can have. I might not ever have to make a change but wanted to have them on hand in the event that I do need to change things up. Time on the water will tell. I'm looking forward to getting them wet and the learning journey.

I'm curious to know if anyone crushes the barbs on the trebles. I prefer to fish barbless/crushed barb hooks. It's better for the bass and safer for me.

Invest in some Owner Saftey Caps.  They help keep the hooks sharp.

Thanks! I just ordered a large bag of them.

Nice...Im sorry I should have mentioned this earlier, but you want the small for the Jrs and med (green) for the standard.

No worries. I ordered the green Owner which states it's good for #4-#8. If I need to get a different size, it's not a big deal. They're cheap enough.

Good deal...They're worth their weight in gold, especially for JBs.  I was wrong the sizes, green is S and orange XS, but they fit vision 110 and 110 jr respectively.  The green ones are probably the most versatile, they will fit 8s, but the orange ones fit a little better.  If you like to use EWG trebles, like the KVD triple grips they take you treat it like its a hook 1 or 2 sizes bigger.

I crush the vast majority of my barbs and have found it makes no difference.  If you look at the evolution of hooks, the barbs have gotten progressively smaller over the years, particularly the higher quality designs of Japanese manufacturers.

Pretty fond of the Baby Kingyo 110 JR, but IDK if you can find any in the wild.

In my searching, many of the recommended colors are out of stock in many places. Do they eventually return to stock or are they limited run colors?

Anyone care to share sources for the Oneten? I've found some stateside and several in Japan and one in Singapore. Not easy to find some popular colors.

Thanks again for all the recommendations. I think I have a pretty good base to work from and true to form, I've gone overboard.  Several more are currently in transit. I've got Onetens, Oneten Jr.'s and several X-80's. IMG_5510.JPG.ab517e6ab402335dc7e89c953efc90e6.JPG
