Super User gim Posted December 5, 2023 Super User Posted December 5, 2023 Took the afternoon off and went pheasant hunting with a trace of fresh snow on the ground. Cosmo and I got a 3 bird limit in about 3 hours, raising 28 birds total. The second spot had 2 roosters that flushed simultaneously and I folded them both. The first one died where it fell but the second one was further out and I could see it went down crippled. After Cosmo retrieved the first dead one, I went over to where I saw the second one fall. 10 minutes later after some fine dog work, she came out of a patch of grass with it. Then I went to one last spot for a limit. My dog turns 12 next February but she is still hammering away out there. I don't know how many days like this I have left with her so I feel very fortunate to make another memory this afternoon. 6 Quote
Way north bass guy Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 That looks like a fun day for sure. I’ve never hunted them ( not too many around here unless you go somewhere where they’ve been released). One day I’ll have to give it a try though. 1 Quote
