papajoe222 Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 I haven’t done any custom wrapping for over a year. I just finished a butt wrap for a friend and when I went to mix the Flex Coat and the resin had crystallized. I don’t know enough about epoxies to take a chance on using it. I know it will become a liquid if heated, but will it then be viable when mixed with the hardener? Quote
Solution spoonplugger1 Posted December 3, 2023 Solution Posted December 3, 2023 10 second burst in microwave to liquify resin. It changes nothing. 2 Quote
Alex from GA Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 I boil a cup of water and put the bottle in it. Same thing as the microwave but safer IMO. 1 Quote
Super User MickD Posted December 3, 2023 Super User Posted December 3, 2023 Short bursts on the microwave are in no way risky or unsafe. This is standard operating procedure for renewing crystalized epoxy, both wrap and adhesive. Quote
papajoe222 Posted December 4, 2023 Author Posted December 4, 2023 Thanks for the replies. I was going to wait for the kit I ordered, but seeing as I have 2/3 of the bottle, I’ll give using it a go. Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted December 4, 2023 Super User Posted December 4, 2023 just loosen the cap before you turn the microwave on 1 Quote

If you are still apprehensive then do the microwave routine then do a test wrap and see what you have. Quote
