MiceNReets Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 Anyone have any experience with the Megabass destroyer p5 killer code? if so, what are your thoughts of the rod and uses? I can’t find any info on this rod. thanks in advance for any and all feedback. Quote
djhands Posted November 21, 2023 Posted November 21, 2023 It's an amazing do everything rod for being 6'6". It has a short handle I have it paired with a steez a hlc. I have used it on small glides most crankbaits and chatterbait. 1 Quote
MiceNReets Posted November 21, 2023 Author Posted November 21, 2023 Excellent. I was thinking of it for Gantarel JRs and frogs. Chatterbaits work good on it too eh? 🤔 Quote
djhands Posted November 22, 2023 Posted November 22, 2023 I have only used the bass puzzle ones but pinned two pike without issues. i have thrown some heavier wakebaits and a s weaver 168. It's a jack of all trades rod pretty good sensitivity too. 1 Quote
MiceNReets Posted December 13, 2023 Author Posted December 13, 2023 So I’m bringing this to life again… orifinally was torn between 2 models of the p5 jdm rods to try out. The blade and killer code. My gut kept telling me killer code and then I swerved and got the blade. Wrapped under the tree so I can’t say much for it. Still am happy with my choice. Went to order a killer code and it’s gone. Just my luck. So I’m research I’ve stumbled upon the Tequila Baccarac as a rod for pretty much the same purpose but a touch longer. soooooooo…. I plan to use this rod for frogs (larger ones 3/4oz to 1.6oz frogs), swimbaits such as Gantarel jr, vitalions, 6” magdrafts, S-Waver and any other swimbaits in that range. Plus wanted to use some heavier jigs. The killer code goes up to 2oz and the TB goes up to 4oz. now for those using the TB are you happy with your choice and with using it for the above options plus more (anything I forgot to mention using it for) or would the killer code be worth getting still for the above applications? Thoughts please 1 Quote

Thoughts please The only thing I sometimes struggle with on the TB is big texsposed beast hooks on 6-8" soft swimmers. I usually have to bomb cast them, and when I get bit way out there I've had some subpar hooksets. My technique could be better, so your results may vary. Otherwise, it does everything in the weight range well. scott 1 Quote
MiceNReets Posted December 15, 2023 Author Posted December 15, 2023 Appreciate the feedback. I’m thinking this rod will do what the killer code can do but more. Leaning towards the TB. Of course when I go to other the Killer Code it’s out of stock and then I go order the TB and yup… out of stock. too slow to the draw. Quote

I remember people on here getting them for $365 shipped from japan, worth checking the usual sites. scott Ahhh, forgot the Canada import tax Quote

They had them on sale locally for Black Friday and I still saved over $150 from sale price. They’re $750-800 in stores here. 3 Quote
