Has anybody fished both of these models? I’ve fished the 893 and currently have the power pitch. Some say the 873c is as powerful but I find that hard to believe. I have no problem frogging on my power pitch but wouldn’t think the 873c had that type of power.

my guesses are

NRX 873C is slightly less powerful, not to be used as a frog rod

NRX is provably slightly more sensitive

steez is just a few tenths of an ounce heavier

i theww a 3/4 Texas rigged creature bait on my power pitch. It was still part of the sweet spot but probably wouldn’t want to throw more than 1oz total package

thoughts ?

I think the 873C falls between the 843 and the 844. I can't speak for the Power Pitch but from what I have read, I would say it is definitely more powerful than the the 873C. To me, the 873C is fantastic with a 1/2oz football jig and trailer. A 3/4oz is pushing it. I also find this to be my go to spinnerbait rod.

To me the 873 is quicker rod than the MBR's. I would say it's a bit softer than a 4 power JWR.

The new player in the game will be the new Fenwick world class 7ft 3 MH. It's designed by Justin Poe and Dave Brinkerhoff . Same guys that worked for Shimano /Loomis and did the 873 CRR.

I have one on the way soon. I'm anxious to compare it to my 873.

Don’t know that Loomis power, but the steez ags power pitch is my favorite heavy cover jig rod, big spinner bait rod, 1-1.5oz spoon rod and a very good swim jig rod.  Only consideration is that I wasn’t a fan of the balance with a sub 7.5oz reel, just a touch too tip heavy for my liking.
