Super cheap: Ozark Trail Baitcaster Combo at Walmart $40. I bought two. Fishing a bitsy bug jig on one and a T-Rig creature bait on the other. They hit well above their low price.

I have to follow Tom’s advice. I don’t hesitate to buy pre-owned from members here.  I’ve had 100 percent positive purchases.

I will willingly say I would buy @jimanchower’s slx mgl if I didn’t already receive mine. He’s offering a kick a** price.

Gear snobs throw a hissy fit when I mention this but Piscifun Phantoms. I picked them up on sale for around forty dollars,  I have five of them now . My first one is four years old   and has caught an estimated 1000 fish . It still performs like a champ. There is no "rumble" feeling on the retrieve like I get from other reels after heavy use.   They have been discontinued so I'm keeping an eye out on sales to try another model.

Own the Piscifun Serpent 2 pc. MH baitcasting rod 7ft. Own the Piscifun Flame spinning. Both have performed well for me.

AJay would throw himself out a window if he woke up one morning and found out he only owned my stuff.  :D

I like my streamlined inventory.  simple, plain.

for a cheap reel.  my Abu REVO-X I got for free surprises me everyday.  but after year3, it is starting to show signs of troubles.   not sure I will ever get it serviced.  I'll just drop it off at Goodwill one day.   it is my only slow reel and it nice for big rubber swimbaits.

I’ve got this one okuma spinning reel I “reely” like, I’ll post a pic once the sun comes out haha. I did break the handle but I keep old broken reels for parts so it’s still going. I think I paid $30 for it, which is ten dollars more than I usually pay
