.......comparing the 2020 Zodias to the expride I find the Zodias  a better rod and at a lower price too.   I find the new Zodias reminds me of the gen 1 Poison adrena and they feel the same to me.    As for expride they just don’t feel right in hand to me and I feel they are over hyped.    I’ve also noticed locally the resale value isn’t there compared to Megabass rods.    That’s local used markets out here that is.

That's good to know. I like my Zodias, and have been tempted to try an Expride, but they just don't feel right in my hand either, so I keep holding off.

I guess more expensive isn't always better. Not for everyone anyway. Different people have different likes.

Could be worse I suppose.  :)

what rod did you end up ordering?

I got the rod today....man this thing is rated heavy but it is super lightweight and it looks like a medium power rod. I'm blown away that this is actually a heavy rated rod. The fit and finish is perfect, tomorrow morning I will do a little test run with it but it's really impressive on first look

Heavy, medium, medium heavy, mag light, OMG. As there's no industry standard, rod power is sooooo subjective. St Croix taught us that eh??

I guess in a lot of cases higher quality blanks = the ability to keep the blank really thin, regardless of the power rating it has
