I can't figure out their rods.  which one of the rods in this series is the standout, moving baits rod?  square bills, chatter, lipless, etc.

thanks.

I have a spare Shimano 150MGL coming back from DVT that needs a home.

I have 3 Champs, 734c, 735c, 706cb and one DRX 755.   I've always been interested in the 784 jig rod and the 795Flip in the hp lineup based on others' recs. If you're going strictly moving baits, with trebles, the 734 champ is as versatile as advertised but I would be leery paying hp prices for that action when the champion is right there for much less.

Personally, I love the 5 power rods.  Dobyns "softer tip" action to powerful mid/butt is great for moving single hook and jig/worm fishing but can still keep fish pinned on treble hook baits.  I am less confident with the 4 power champion, but hear that the 784 hp is a bit of a unicorn in those regards.

DC734C for versatility and moving baits for sure. I like Dobyns 3 powers for my style of fishing, but the 734 is pretty darn good at covering what a 3 power can do with the added benefit of a little extra horsepower when you need it, for either heavier lures or heavier cover. At one point I had a DC703C and DC733C along with the DC734C and ended up selling the 3 powers since the 734 did it all for me. The only thing I wanted from it that it didnt provide was light lure bottom contact sensitivity. It was ok, but I wanted more, so I went to the DX series for that.

Oops. I think if you are going pure moving baits, you might wanna try their crankbait rods. DC705CB, or whatever length 5 power you prefer, can probably cover what you need it for.

For those baits save your money and get the regular Champion instead of the Extreme.

The 703 or 704 would be my choices for your baits mentioned. Go with the 3 if your baits are lighter, and the 4 power if you use heavier baits. If you like longer rods get the 733 or 734c.

I got a DX744 for jigs and didn't like it at all.  However, it is now my primary spinnerbait and buzzbait rod, and I highly recommend it for those.
