JiggaMan512 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 has anyone tried this line? im a big braid guy but never used Rapalas stretch braid. Quote
Papa_Tom Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Have not seen this yet. I only use braid for one application, and I don't care for stretch then. Still, this could be interesting and useful to some...perhaps even me in the right environment. Quote
Triton9 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 i read about this in Bassmaster. they don't sell it at my local tackle shop yet but i will try when its in stock. seems like a good line, although i have never used Rapala's lines before. Quote
OnyxWulf Posted November 22, 2006 Posted November 22, 2006 I too am waiting for this. I am intersted to see how and if it works and in what applications I could use it in. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted November 22, 2006 Super User Posted November 22, 2006 This sounds interesting. It uses microscopic particles of titanium alloy suppposedly for reinforcement. I saw this in Bassmaster mag also. The following link is from the Rapala press release for this product: http://www.rapala.com/press/pressReleaseDetail.cfm?pressreleaseid=58. Like anything else, we'll have to see if this translates well in the real world. Quote
justfishin Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 I have not seen it yet. I am not by any means sold on braid. I did sort of like it for buzzbaits but other than that I like mono. Part of this is my fault. I cannot get used to that lift up motion when flipping. I am a old dog at this and I need to cross their eyes when I set the hook. I tended to break off too many when hook setting with braid or breaking my rods. Maybe this stretch braid will solve that problem. As for me, Copolymer mono, period. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted November 23, 2006 Super User Posted November 23, 2006 i for the life of me don't get why someone would want braid to stretch.if you want stretch use mono. Quote
