Looking for a new spinning rod. Something between 6’8” and 7’1” and medium power. Mainly going to throw floatin’ worms, weightless wacky, Neko rigs and fairly small spinnerbaits like the Booyah Pond Magic. Got a pretty long list that includes 13 fishing omen, muse, or meta, Daiwa Tatula XT, Dobyns Fury, Falcon Lowrider, Kistler Argon, St. Croix Bass X or Mojo Bass. The Daiwa and Dobyns are the only two locally that I can get my hands on. I have experience with 1st gen Omen, Fury, and 1st gen Bass X. Anyone have experience with some of these rods and how they compare? Any others I missed that I should consider? I’m terribly indecisive and trying to narrow my list down 😂 thanks in advance!

From the options you listed, I'm assuming budget is $100 - $150?

Spinning rods are hard for me to recommend to others since the reel seats and handles vary SOOO much. I like a spinning rod that doesn't have the threads at the front, or at least has them hidden, and appreciate some sort of foregrip since I typically fish with three fingers in front of the reel stem.

I have mostly Fenwicks, with some Falcon Lowriders, Daiwa RG and Tatula, and Phenix Feathers mixed in. I really like Dobyns casting rods, but don't own a single one of their spinning rods.

For me, I HAVE to hold a spinning rod in my hand with a reel on it before buying.

Thanks for the reply. How do the Lowriders and Tatula compare?

To me the Lowrider feels a bit heavier, but I really like the large cork foregrip, so I just put a reel on it that balances well. I have the Shakey Head rod and like it.

The 7'1 M F Omen or Muse are really good soft plastic rods, a little tip with a lot of power for a M.  The spinning Metas don't feel bad, they're heavier then Omen and considerably heavier then Muse.  Its not a bad heavy, as its balanced well, kind of like a Dobyns.  The best Value IMO is the Muse and you get a free rod.

The Tatula XTs feel so much better then the last gen XT.

I’ve held the Tatula XT rods in store and they felt a lot nicer than their price tag would suggest. However, the old Mojo Bass rods being on sale makes them hard to pass up too. I’d go with one of those 2
