@T-Billy Not a musky fisherman at all but curious if you’re getting those in lakes or rivers or both. Can’t speak for northern IN but all musky in central & southern IN are stocked, that I’m aware

Lakes, stocked fish. They can't successfully spawn in our lakes due to a lack of early weed growth, because of winter drawdowns. Our reservoirs were built for flood control.

My apologies to @gimruis for getting side tracked here. And now... back to your regularly scheduled winter programming.

Just a light dusting of snow last week. Boat is stored for winter, and the mower deck has been swapped out for the snow blower on the John Deere.  I'm ready!

@DaubsNU1 that is a nice storage shed.

Thanks! Been a fun project...started with a blank slate in 2018. No power or lights.

It's unheated, but has 125amp power supply, wired internet connection, and I have managed to keep mice out for ~3 years.

I wouldn't be tackling electrical myself for a shed, but its obvious based on the previous photo that you are a very organized individual with your stuff too.  The only thing different I would have done would be a polymer/epoxy shield on the concrete floor.

Stunning day out there for late November.  I saw a couple boats fishing the river near Prescott, WI this afternoon.

We’ve got about 10” of snow in the last day or so. Got the new John Deere out today after work with the blower installed on back. That sure makes quick work of my two driveways! Didn’t even break a sweat either like with the walk behind 👍🏻. Supposed to get fairly warm here tomorrow, then be close to the freezing mark for a while with no real crazy amounts of snow in the future forecast, so I won’t get to play with the new toy for a while, but I’m ok with that.

@gimruis My Dad was a carpenter for 40+ years, taught me a TON of stuff, including electrical. I trenched in the wire from house to shop, and did 90% of the wiring myself. The only thing I will not do is power to the big box. That scares the crap out of me.

It was fun deciding layout, where to put outlets, where to run 110 vs. 220, lighting, stairs, loft, storage.

Thought about polymer/epoxy for the floor, but decided against it.

@Way north bass guy what model John Deer did you get??

Found my x750 used in 2018, added 54" snow blower the next summer...again, used. It is the 2-wheel drive version, Yanmar diesel. 75lb wheel weights and chains allow me to snow blow my way up the hill, and to front of house. It's slow going, but gets there.

3038E with a 60” blower, 66” brush hog and a back blade. We have 25 acres, half of that is fields to cut, and two driveways to clean. We’re also looking at starting a cut flower farm too so I’m getting a tiller for it next spring to start making some beds.

My Father used to have a blower on the front of his riding lawn mower.  That lasted for one season.  He said it was way too underpowered to move heavy snow.  Even with chains and weights.  So he got rid of that blower attachment.

He put a blade/plow on the front of his ATV instead that operates via the wench.  WAY more power, no more spinning tires.  He lives in central MN so he probably gets a lot more snow than you do in Nebraska though.  The one advantage a blower provides is that you can "spray" it further into the yard than you can with a blade.  When he starts the season, he pushes the snow a ways into the yard instead of just to the edge otherwise his driveway will shrink as winter progresses.

@Way north bass guy OUTSTANDING!!! Great set up you got there!!

@gimruis The diesel on my John Deere has plenty of power, throws snow 40+ feet. We don't get a ton of snow here, probably used the JD snow blower three times last year.

My Dad had a blade on an old Wheel Horse growing up...it did okay with light stuff, but struggled with drifted snow and wet-heavy snow. I looked at a few blades...glad I found the 54" snow blower used. Saved a bunch of $$.

I usually clear my driveway, and 5 of the six other driveways in our circle...I'm out there, having fun...might as well help a neighbor out. The 6th guy has a nice two stage walk behind snow blower...and he likes to move snow : )

Wind blows so dang much here in Nebraska, causing packed drifts. The John Deere really chews through it nicely.

@gimruis is that enough to melt what ice you have?  I know you won't hold it off forever, but mid 40's and sunny with some wind is prime ice killing conditions.

Some locations don't have any ice yet here.  Bigger, windswept lakes and areas with current are still wide open.  Smaller lakes, ponds, etc have ice that vary from an inch to 5 inches.  Depending on how much is there it may or may not be enough warmth for a few days to completely melt it.  Guess we'll find out in a few days.

back in 1992 while living in Detroit Lakes, minn i was a certified Ski-Doo snowmobile technician working at a ski doo- john deere dealership. Come dec at x-mas time there was no snow on the ground.

I and the salesman looked out the windows and knew we were screwed as the prime selling dates had long passed and now the boss was paying the floor plan interest on all the sleds sittin in the showroom.

Come late january the Ski doo reps and accountants along with 3 tractor trailers showed up in the parking lot and loaded all the sleds, clothing, helmets, parts and banners from the store and off they went. We were no longer in the snowmobile selling business.

There is not alot of profit on the sale of a new sled, around $200.00 to 400.00 was the range, money was to be made by selling the clothing, parts and repairing sleds.

A lot of businesses make their money on 'incidentals. Early-mid 2000s I was assistant manager of a Super America...know what we made the highest % profit on?

The coffee and pop dispensers.
