Extra fast action spinning rod

What techniques are best suited using an extra fast action spinning rod ?

Would it be suitable for any of these ?

1. buzz-baits

2. surface plugs.

2. spinner-baits.

4. drop-shot.

5.T-rig

6. C-rig.

Actually with a spinning rod, I might prefer an EF even for surface plugs since the rod is softer than the BC version, which is treble friendly.  

Bottom line is all of it falls back to personal preference... sometimes you have to buy and use something to figure out if you'll like it.

i would also say "all of the above".  As was mentioned, just try everything with it and then decide what YOU like it for.

Only ONE is a spinning rod.

ES68mxf = Legend elite spinning rod, 6'8" medium power, extra fast action.

The extra fast action and medium power is excellent for topwaters. The soft tip gives a good twitch to the walkers, and poppers etc. but the extra fast quality brings the medium power backbone into play quickly. I use the tournament bass 6'8" MXF casting rod as my primary topwater rod. I have mentioned before that althougth it is not my most expensive rod. I always carry it with me. Nothing fishes topwaters better.

I agree with Avid on his thoughts. There are several applications where an ex-fast action would work, but two techniques that are most suited for an ex-fast action would be drop-shot and top water. You could also throw in the smaller versions of a jerkbait in there as well.

Hmmm...I always though the general consensus for lures with treble hooks (in this case, topwaters), that moderate action rods were the ticket...

I'm with Chris at Tech.

For single hook baits, I fish fast action. For all treble hooks, I recommend moderate or slow action.

However, I do fish a St. Croix Avid AC66MF with a soft tip for medium weight lures, so I guess I'm onboard with Avid, too. Another "Fast Action" rod with a soft tip is the G.Loomis PR series. My PR844S is my dedicated live bait rod and my next rod for treble hooks will be it's baitcasting counterpart, the PR 844C.
