It is an interesting watch.  I have not tried the line that was deemed 'best overall'

Someone had posted this a while back, I believe. I don't put much stock into these YouTube videos. Its YouTube, so as expected, he has an affiliate link to the "winning line" where he will earn commissions (link is dead now).

I don’t either.
The best test is how it performs for what you use and how you use it.

Fir those who don’t have the time or means to experiment, buy the best you can afford.
There are differences between lines in its particular category, but not that much

Yea....no testing after soaking the lines, but otherwise, it did make me want to check out the spro line.

The Essentials gouken.  Seems really thin.

@KP Duty, it is indeed. I put 12 lb on a baitcaster for cranks/jerks and it was fine but I could even launch an 1/8 oz tube with it !

Interesting.

I know that I like the Daiwa J-Fluoro Samurai’s handling the best and if I buy late season it’s no more than $23/spool shipped so it’s been a win win for me.

I don’t put any stock in gear recommendations from anyone on YT. At most, I’ll watch reel reviews but only the in-depth, breakdown ones.

Too many “influencers” out there pushing product only for the kickbacks.

I've had the Spro line in the 10lb. on 2 of my crankbait rods for a couple months now.

It's time for the Wart and RK crawler bite around here and it's getting used quite a bit.

It handles well about like invisx . I'd buy it again but it was getting hard to find the last I looked.

I got mine from RDT.

I bought a 150m spool of 14# to try after seeing this test a while back. I'm also wary of YT/IG/etc. reviews but for $20 it was worth a shot. I'm pleased with the line and will probably buy more down the road if I can find it in a bigger spool, and if the price is favorable over the standard go-tos.

A lot of people say don't believe YouTube, so does that mean every knot test and any other line test is trash if it is from YouTube?

If it's about knots - Salt Strong are the guys to trust...

I agree.

I think what I base credibility on is whether or not YouTube is your main source of income, or a significant source of income. If it is, you likely have something to gain from misleading or clickbaiting the public.

There are already lots of viable Floro options available with a wide variety of characteristics and prices.

Why even bother? If there's going to be a technological revolution with Floro, pretty sure it will be Sunline or Seaguar at the forefront.

While I'm a long term user of P lIne, Sunline and Seaguar options......the new Shimano Mastiff might actually offer something new to the game that addresses one of the biggest cons of FC.   The line has "ridges" that allows better knot tying.

" In addition to being smooth and supple, Mastiff possesses superior binding strength compared to other fluorocarbon lines. While the surface is completely smooth running parallel to the length of the line, Shimano engineers devised a unique nano-surface processing technology called NANOARMOR®, which creates ridges across the outer surface of the line so slight they’re undetectable by human fingertips or eyes.

This extremely fine application of concave and convex textures on the outermost layer of the line helps prevent knot-slipping when fighting large fish. Similarly, this minimizes slippage and breakage when using common bass angling techniques like twitching, jerking, and casting large lures."

Also recently became a huge fan of Daiwa J Samauri Hidden Concept, best jerkbait line I've found by a significant margin.

Guys on forums pushing a product often have an agenda too.  You have to use your best judgement and decide if they are credible or not.

My buddy uses whatever line comes on the reel at the pawn shop and somehow it’s always extremely strong 😂

I feel like fools, children, and Crappie fisherman all have an edge on me when pursuing DD+ fish......I have no idea why I buy $25 Jerkbaits and $38 FC 🤔🤣

Did he catch that 23" on his $2 jerkbait?
