I was alternate species fishing (I was in a small tournament) and caught these two beauties.  They looked bigger in real life.  Caught on Lake Namakagon located near Cable, WI. last week.

I caught these two beauties on a #3 Mepp's bucktail with a silver blade and black skirt.

I caught these two 4 somethings on a double 8 bucktail back in August on the same trip. I figured I'd catch one now and then on big blades, but two in one trip surprised me.

Also managed a couple slimers on that outing.

 I rarely 'target' musky,

but the handful of times I have, there were no bass caught.

However, I have had a few musky take swipes at my baits while bass fishing.

Sometimes they end up being long distance releases and other times not so much.

The terminology from one part of the country to another is fascinating.

No one here would ever refer to a muskie as a "slimer."  That's what everyone calls the annoying little northern pike here, amongst other nicknames that may or may not contain profanity.

I've also heard of people calling muskies in northern Wisconsin "ditch pickles" because they are often skinnier and caught in shallow, small waterways.

@gimruis, when I was in Canada a number of years ago native guides called northerns Jack Fish.  I had never heard that one.

@A-Jay and @T-Billy, those are some very nice fish!
