well i got my st.croix avid rod in the mail today & it is a piece of work....

i matched it with a daiwa viento reel & all i can say is WOW

i now know that their IS a difference in quality when you spend the extra cash on equipment...

i just wanted to thank everyone who helped me with great advice & opinions on what to look for....

i cant wait to hit the water with this setup..........

yea that avid is one sweet rod .... and imo they dont get much better .... i have 2 avids and 2 legends and a few premieres .... love them all // but imo,, warrenty and price the avid is a killer rod ....  ;D

I also like St Croix rods.  

I own a number of high end rods.

But my St. Croix TBC68MXF will always go in the boat, even when an IMX or GLX stays behind.  Best topwater rod I have ever used.
