A wrap of tape on the reel foot tip solves the reel seat issue.

Don’t complain here talk to St. Croix, they appreciate the feedback.

Thanks. I was just sharing my thoughts with the forum. I thought that was okay to do. I do plan on telling St Croix.

I'm sure someone that was contemplating ordering one would appreciate hearing about the issue.  I'm always interested in opinions on new items.

Gorilla tape works great to snug things up.

Glad to hear you were taken care of, great company.

Oh, I've broken many tips over the years, why I have a drawer full of various size tips.

A 7ft med turns into a 6'6 MH. 😅

If you still have both pieces you might try this repair process:  I have repaired many rods this way, and they fish well.  The external sleeve isn't pretty, but they fish well.  On one of mine I had measured CCS numbers when new, and after repair they were the same.  The process calls for glass sleeves, but high mod thin walled graphite works just fine and looks less obtrusive.

It is definitely ok, Complaining make about 50% of the post on this forum, so please do.

Thanks. My "complaint" was not as much about the reel not being tight in the seat. But the poor quality of the seat. Seems very, very cheap. I did read a few reviews and none of them mention this. Maybe I am expecting to much. But I don't think so. But it is on there now and unless it falls off it won't bother me. The rest of the rod I love. It is basically my old rod with different guides and reel seat. I have yet to land any sizeable fish with it yet. But I am sure it will be just like my old one which is great.

I agree with you. Initially I was in love with the Trigon and do still enjoy using them. The reel seat worries me though. Its definitely a cheap plastic and tends to unscrew itself or just doesn't feel like it gets tight enough. Feels like its flexing when im fishing with it. I love everything else about the rod but wont buy more than what I have at this price point.

Man, give St Croix a call and tell them what you've been telling folks here on this forum, or what's been bothering you about that reel seat. You shouldn't be using duct tape to hold any reel tight. I own a ton of St Croix rods, including a stack of top of the line saltwater $$ Legend surf rods. Every time I've had any such issues, they've always responded with positive results. They can at least give you professional pointers to solve your problems else just replace the rod with something else, just to keep you a happy camper, which they've done for me. Believe me, they've totally shocked me with their over the top customer service!

I haven't had any reel seat issues with the Mojo Trigon rods.  I have both spinning and baitcasting, and have used them quite a bit.

I'm not inferring you're lying, but rather, your experience is likely isolated.  Something St. Croix would gladly assist with.  They'll take care of you.

this right here.    They have amazing customer service and they really want to keep the customer happy and out on the water.

Just wanted to add for future readers.. I ended up selling both of my Trigon rods due to the poor real seat. Maybe I should have called St Croix first but not really sure what they would have done about it and I wasn't going to spend money to ship a rod to them.

Beautiful rod, love the trigon grip on the spinning rod. Trigon grip on the casting rod made no difference to me as its too low. The real seat is complete garbage though.

Interested to hear if OP actually did call them and what they did or said.
