redmeansdistortion Posted October 14, 2023 Posted October 14, 2023 Daiwa Silver Creek Glass Progressive with a raced out Millionaire Ringa SSS, 8.9 oz. The reel itself weighs only 6.3 oz, a feather for a round reel. 4 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted October 14, 2023 Global Moderator Posted October 14, 2023 Balance of the whole setup is key. The overall feel in your hand of a balanced combo will feel lighter to you than the actual weight of it. Every time I bought a new rod I would try different reels of the capacity and drag rating I need to find that sweet spot. The only exception would be a flippin combo where I want it more “tip heavy” than the rest. Mike 3 Quote
Friggs Posted October 15, 2023 Posted October 15, 2023 I know I am not in you guys world. But I was curious so I weighed two of mine that I thought would be my lightest. And the winner is my St Croix Mojo Bass MJC71XHF with my Daiwa Tatula CT at 12.24 ounces. That is with 15-pound Seaguar 15lb Fluorocarbon on it. 2 Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted October 15, 2023 Super User Posted October 15, 2023 Just going by feel, it is probably the Shimano SLX on the BPS 6'6" m/f Bionic Blade rod. 1 Quote
Super User QUAKEnSHAKE Posted October 15, 2023 Super User Posted October 15, 2023 Shimano Core 50mg7 paired with an Okuma Helios 7' rod total weght 8.8oz. The balance of the combo is very good as well not tip heavy at all. Quote
