Everytime. Average supply at my local store. I enjoy rumaging through the YUM discount boxes to pick up a couple bags of whatever catches my eye. I got a few bags today of ribbon tail worms that I plan to cut the ribbon tail off of and use as chatterbait/spinnerbait trailers. At the discount prices I can cut up some plastics and use Mend-It to make up some homemade baits.

I always check out the fishing aisle in Walmart. But Only when I go alone. Which is 99% of the time. My wife hates Walmart. I am disabled so I go when she is at work to get some "groceries." And I can't help it if some things jump into my basket as I go down the aisle. I have about 25% of the lures I do because of groceries. Part of me wishes they had a better selection and more good stuff. But I would have a hard time explaining why I spent $50 and only got a half gallon of milk. LOL I am currently trying to figure out how to get a tackle bag I found there to become groceries. I really wish Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop sold groceries too.

Pretty much every time I go I take a cruise through the fishing aisles…..kind of sad that what once was a 4 aisle Mecca is down to 2, but still worthy of scouting. Picked up a Realtree tackle bag the other day for $30 and it’s a beast……holds 5 3700’s, 2 3600’s and a bunch of extras.

I dont care what store it is if there is anything fishing I stroll through.

Walmart sometimes has some good discounts. They had small ned rig kids from Strike King complete with heads and about 4 or 5 baits for $2 and some strike king cranks for about $3. Other than that I mostly pick up some of the plano style organizers they have at decent prices.

Always. Never know when they're running a good deal on something useful. And they carry some one-off yum stuff that can be helpful. Plus it takes my mind off the suspicious lack of walls inside the walmart. You'd think there'd be more given the name and all

I always look and sometimes find some good deals. Also noticed they are starting to carry some better brands, adding 6th sense baits is the most recent. The issue is it is still basically 1 aisle so on a lot of baits only 1 or 2 colors for each style.

I stay away from the bargain bin plastics because I can just reshop in may basement for all the bargain bin plastics I just had to have.

When I go with my wife to Walmart I head to the fishing section as soon as I get into the store.  We meet up later in the grocery section.

Always worth a peek when at Walmart. I find their braided line deals outstanding. Hard to beat $13 for 150yd 50lb Power Pro. For saltwater, no better place to get the Bomber Windcheater hard lures for $7. Some of their soft plastics are also half price of what other stores charge for the same brand. I also found a new place to buy my tungsten punch weights lol. Yep, always worth a look.

Just tell her it’s a reusable shopping bag because you’re trying to help cut down on plastic bag use. 😉

Eagle Claw Brent Chapman worm hooks are what I buy @ Walmart.  The best quality for 1/2 what the other premium hooks cost.  Yes I walk through.  A long while ago they were blowing out IM 7 rods for $7, I bought all of them and caught hundreds of bass with them.

I use the app or shop online. Go to fishing section, don't be too specific on filters because they generally mark things incorrectly on a regular basis and you'll miss good deals. Mark the box for available in store, whatever that's called, and then start scrolling. I will often times find things for great prices. If it ends up not available in store (curbside, who wants to walk in?), usually it'll offer to ship for free. Great way to get soft plastics cheap, and a few other things.

So last week while trying to find the ozark trail jerkbait that a pike borrowed from me on a short trip, I found at least one good deal. One store had none of the jerkbaits, but did have some roboworm 4.5 and 6" worms on sale for either 2.50 or 3 a bag. I got some 4.5" Bold Gill and morning dawn chartreuse for 2.50 a bag. Then we passed through the town where I originally found the jerkbait, still had them so I grabbed 5. I know people bash the hooks on the cheap baits, but at least a couple had what appeared to be an eagle claw sticker on it. The one I lost I thought the hooks were fine, but might have to replace at some point. The bait just had a nice slow rise, and I hope the rest of them perform the same.

I buy some tungsten sinkers and my wacky rig hooks there. I get some of the discount YUM plastics and occasionally some TRDs because they carry my favorite color. I also grab some nightcrawlers occasionally to catch bait for catfish or to take my boys out after bluegills or creek fishing.

I'll admit it, I love Walmart. Our city has a very good fishing section at Walmart. It's surprising as two larger cities to the south have much smaller Walmart fishing sections. The Yum plastics are great, as are most Strike King lures. Lots of small panfish lures. Reasonable prices. Last week I got an Ozark Trail baitcasting combo for $20. I talked to the guy running sporting goods and asked if they ever sell damages stuff. The combo had the handle off of it laying on the shelf. The nut must have come loose. Normally $40 I got it for $20. Took a few minutes to put a nut and washer on it and as good as new.

The gentleman over at You Tube Realistic Fishing did a 2 year review on the Ozark Trail baitcasting combo and gave it good grades. Agree about stores being different with their offers and store management.

I get pulled all the time to check out the fishing department at Wally World. But go home empty handed most of the time. It’s just fun to go check out anything that has the word fishing in it.

Yep. Realistic Fishing is one of my favorite youtube shows. He sold me on the Ozark Trail Combo. He even used 12# Zebco Omniflex mono line on it and had few issues with it. On one of the latest videos a guy rebuilt that Ozark Trail Baitcaster for him. Will be curious to see how much more use he gets out of it :)

I personally don't care for Walmart.  Mostly because of the clientele that shops there, the Walmartians.

Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding.....

Walt Mart arround me dont carry much, I would take a pack of Gamakatsu hooks and some Senkos.

I do everything I can not to shop at Walmart, but the other people that shop there aren't the reason why.

However, back on topic, when I do have to go there…you can find me tagging along with @J Francho in the Lego aisle.

I make a cruise through the fishing section and the clearance isle, which I did not know the had until a while back.

They great deals there, I’ve found Zoom soft plastics for a dollar a bag. Why, I don’t know, had the same stuff in the fishing isle for regular price.

The Christie Craw is legit.  Yum Dingers are legit.  Often on clearance. They have Rat-L-Traps and Strike King baits that I need sometimes.  My son gets his panfishing stuff there also and it's got a nice selection.  I actually bought the Ozark combo and it caught me many fish but the reel needs some love at this point.
