castaway Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 I bought a Shimano Citica D reel at my local Walmart for $69.95 Its a 200 series. I also got a dozen pks of Waveworm tiki sticks in sweet potato color for $1.00 a pack, 6 Rapala DT6 for $2.50 each and a Rapala X Rap in perch color for $2.50. I am not a die hard Shimano person, but if I can find 6 more in my area for that price, I might become one.You might want to check your area soon.;)Ivan Quote

Craw Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Not sure how much truth there is to it but it's my understanding that WalMart is phasing out their display case reels as well as their line up of firearms. The information I received from WalMart employees was that they will continue to sell only the reels that are hanging on the racks. The WalMarts in my area have all marked down the display models, which include Quantum Accurist, Shimano Citica, Team Daiwa Advantage and Daiwa Procasters. Also saw several Abu Garcia models marked down. Might be a good idea to check around with different WalMarts if any of these reels interest you. They won't last long at the marked down prices. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted November 13, 2006 Super User Posted November 13, 2006 I found a steal at Dick's on last years Curado for $43. I bought five of them. They also had a Saharas for $25 and Cruxis for $35. I also found some Lucky Craft Lures for $5.50 and some Zoom Lizards for $1. Also, just a heads up, I went to a BPS today and they have raised their prices on most of their BPS made products. For instance, the Tourney Special Rods are $49.99. They used to be $29.99. Quote

Super User FishTank Posted November 13, 2006 Super User Posted November 13, 2006 The Tourney Specials have been on sale for $29.99 off and on all summer and fall. Their normal price was $39.99. They have been marking stuff up all week but if you bring in any of their ads or catalogs they will match the sale price. If not, they are $49.99. I purchased a Johnny Morris rod this weekend and it was marked up to $159.99 but with the flyer I got in the mail, it was $119. Quote
