Had a fishy overcast afternoon trip.

Committed to points this time.

A Rage Bug on a swinghead was the deal for this one.

I did eventually change the tackle I was fishing it on.

Started with a MHF Graphite stick and ended up having more success getting fish to the net with a H Mod Glass blank.

btw ~ this is what I use to 'paint' the rage bugs.

Needs to dry overnight and has no 'scent'.

Over the hard water season, I'll do up 'several baits'

in preparation for the next year.

Base color is green pumpkin but there may be no wrong answer.

The Fall Bite

I'm river fishing in Ontario, drifting a stick bait in pools. My 5th cast and I'm wondering if I need to change my cadence so I reel in about 7' of line till I can see the worm there in the water. Before I can think to reel in again an 18" smallie shoots out and engulfed my worm.

Fight was on.

I had a 6-6 stC TRS66LF2, and a 1/0 ewg light wire hook. He had a bad attitude and rubbed my line on every rock he could get to.

Great time of year to fish. But will it beat the prespawn bite?

My report this week (once I get around to processing the video) is going to be the PNW version of yours! I caught a bunch on a drop shot but I caught a lot on a swing-head (I call them wobbleheads for whatever reason). I like the Zoom Z-craw as a trailer. The "arms" have kind of a swimbait tip on them and really flutter nicely. I have not tried painting them but your lure looks way cooler than mine :)

Congrats on getting some really beautiful fish and thanks for taking us along on the video!

are you just slow reeling them up the points like a slow crankbait?  The first one either rocketed up or was in fairly shallow water based on how quick it was from hookset to him jumping.

edit: I guess like in my other thread I should read/watch everything first since you answered the second thought about 3 minutes later into the video.
