3than_18 Posted October 5, 2023 Posted October 5, 2023 I hate the rod selection format. Reels are the same way although doesn't seem quite as bad if you already recognize part #s (which I don't think most people do). I feel bad for beginner fisherman trying to select rods/reels now. I hope they fix these issues! 1

It used to be on the clearance page, but I am not seeing it anywhere. If anyone cares, I did a live chat with TW support and they were not sure where the web developers put the Used item section link, but said the current workaround is to search for the word "used" in the search bar and it brings up the used item section. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/search-tackle.html?start=0&count=20&searchtext=used
txchaser Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 Might as well pile on in the hopes someone over at TW reads this thread. I don't want to complain I just want it fixed :) Hey TW: Go restock six senko colors in three sizes and tell me how many clicks it took you vs the old site. Now go browse Keitechs, looking to see which color you want but you don't know the name of it. Cool you finally found it, if you squinted. Oh wait, they don't have the size you need in stock. Start over. TW's old grid layout for getting 200 SKUs (colors X size) on a single page was *great*. Frankly probably got me to buy too many colors or sizes because it was easy to see something that caught my eye. I used to really dislike shopping elsewhere online. Now, same deal. TW still winning on selection, but that's not a very big moat. On the bright side it is nice to be able to sort by bestselling colors. I can tell when UI designers or product photos don't fish/hunt/skate/whatever. 2
corey90 Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 lloks like everyone has to do there research on a new rod now. Y'all should to begin with so theres no oops i ordered the wrong rod now i need a new reel for it.
Super User PhishLI Posted October 6, 2023 Super User Posted October 6, 2023 One word, and it rhymes with blows. And all of the reviews are gone.

I still see reviews. But to see them all you have to click "more". You know what they say- if it's not broke, fix it! ?♂️
ironbjorn Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 I haven't been on the website in probably 2 weeks. Just looked. Yep, now it's as bad as most other fishing store websites. Changing just to change. Zero reason or benefit. Like a highschool girl who has to have the same top as the other highschool girls. 1
ElGuapo928 Posted October 6, 2023 Posted October 6, 2023 For my less than stellar vision and smaller phone, I like the new site. I ordered a few things the other night with no issues, but I did like the previous version’s interface better.
JediAmoeba Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Man, I like change and new things but the site is an abomination for choosing models now. I want to order 6 different crankbait colors which is now a PITA. I went to Fish USA instead.
NittyGrittyBoy Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 I don't like it. Ain't broke don't fix it. They had one of the best websites, now its like blahh.. 2
rboat Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 The new website is trash. Hey TW listen to us and bring the old website back!
LonnieP Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 I like the new site. The pictures of items are bigger and I find it no harder to navigate than the old site.
Super User Log Catcher Posted October 7, 2023 Super User Posted October 7, 2023 I haven't spent a lot of time checking it out but from what I see the old site was much better.
garroyo130 Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 I mainly go there to compare specs before I buy elsewhere for cheaper ... that said ... i dont like the new site for looking up line diameters
Super User MN Fisher Posted October 9, 2023 Super User Posted October 9, 2023 I hadn't signed into TW in months...I find better prices/selection elsewhere. Popped in to see what the ruckus was about...ya, website to avoid. 5 hours ago, garroyo130 said: i dont like the new site for looking up line diameters I just go to the source...they're usually more accurate. 1

I hope they fix these issues! It's beyond bad now. (this is from the desktop version) Somebody mentioned the Falcon Cara Amistad in another thread. I went to TW to look up the rod and it's specs. First off, I click on "casting rods". Then the top 10 brand pop up. But Falcon isn't one of them. Now I have to click on "shop all casting rod brands". It now lists all 60-70 brands TW carries, Except the brands are all scrambled and not in alphabetical order, which has already been mentioned here. So I find Falcon and click on it. I then find the Cara and click on it. Now, on the old site it would list all the models in a neat, compact column. It would list the specs, the rod name etc all right there for you to easily read. Now? It doesn't even list the rod names (Amistad, Eye Crosser etc). You could easily find the rod you're looking for on the old site Now if you're looking for a specific rod by name, you have to click on the length and then click on an action...and then click on rod specs. Then you will see the rod name. If that's not it, try a new length/action until you find what you're looking for. Now if you already know it's a 7'3/H etc then it's not as bad. If you don't, then it's one big game. I've been a long-time TW customer. But they just keep making it easier and easier to look elsewhere. 1
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted October 10, 2023 Super User Posted October 10, 2023 There new website is absolute flaming pile of garbage.....I doubt they had any idea how many people used their website as a reference on gear, and by default ultimately spent money with them. Now they've killed the ability to quickly and easily find all the info one wants about tackle on the market, and I have little doubt they'll see the bottom line effected. Thankfully the big wigs at TW will notice this sharp decrease in time, and restore the old site. Never seizes to amaze me how companies can't help themselves from changing an incredible successful product, or recipe. 2

I saw Matt or Tim (Tactical Bassin) comment to someone about the new site. They said it'll never go back to the old site. I'm sure they would know and have had conversations with TW since they are huge partners. Like you said though, how in the world did they think this new version would be a good idea? The old format was absolutely PERFECT. 1

Perhaps it's more cost effective on their end ? After all, $$$$$$ is KING ! btw - I could care less what the site 'looks like', Just max out the inventory, ship on time and keep that military discount going. A-Jay 2
